    This directive prevents automatic compression between Caddy and backend.

    If I set compression on, Caddy always inserts Accept-Encoding: gzip when it forwards a request to the backend, and then decompresses the response toward a client that does not accept compressed response.

    If I set compression off, Caddy does not change Accept-Encoding, and my backend returns 406 Not Acceptable if client cannot accept compressed response, which effectively reduces my bandwidth consumption.

  • Yeah, I'm gonna guess it's an old backup. I canceled a VPS previously, and it was removed from the control panel, but it's showing up again now. Plus the (useless) 40 EUR credit that was added to my account isn't showing up anymore.

    Is it in the DC? Thought it was on Hetzner. @default - explain why they deleted all the tickets with their "work"? To what end? Explain why they took someones balance? Explain 256 IPs and 3000 clients - how do you make that work? Explain no emails to the customers. Oh I know he is a good guy, it's all a misunderstanding. And of course, you are just trying to gaslight everyone again.

    Big question- did he refund the money earned from the IP sale to his clients who lost their money on his shitty system? Or did he pocket it? Wasn't a whole lot of people saying they got real cash refunds

    They won't back down now, if it was another random company I'm sure there wouldn't be a question though. Even though;

    1. 0 communication
    2. Constant lies (Monday updates, selling "old" hardware, removing a "single" IP range etc
    3. Refunds coming
    4. List goes on throughout this and the last thread..

    Still happy to keep more than 4PB worth of storage up for sale though (without any servers for it).

    @databoss - I do not work for HostSolutions, therefore I can't answer all those questions.

    My humble opinion (because I would love to have an answer) is simply that one can't handle it.

    One thing is certain, there are many customers with HostSolutons, because it was cheap and old provider of LET:

    • some wanting service back (like me),
    • some who did chargebacks on their service,
    • some who did chargebacks on their credit which was manually increased by ??%
    • some wanting refunds
    • some worried about future of company.
    • some simply angry
    • some opening multiple tickets (we all know people like to complain multiple times, with a misguided thinking they get special attention)

    I don't think he has the staff to handle all this mess, especially without staff like Miguel; so he simply deletes them all while he figures something out.

    I do not know WHMCS (never tried it, don't own a license), so I don't know what needs to be done in order to express a more technical approach, but this is my opinion as an outsider, regarding deleting tickets. Marius did this in the past, when he was overwhelmed with customer tickets. I can't see other reason for deleting hundreds (or maybe thousands) of tickets - he simply does not have the staff to handle this mess fast, because that would increase costs, and services wold have been more expensive.

    Wait a sec...I think @Maounique's scenario was more like this:

    • @cociu involucrates my tentacle hentai collection. In a rage, I threaten to kill him.

    I don't think that's double jeopardy, is it? I guess now that I think about it, I'm not sure. If we were talking about a bank robbery and I was falsely imprisoned, got out, and then robbed the same bank, I could definitely be prosecuted for that second robbery because it's a separate criminal act. But you can't kill someone twice. OTOH, I have a hard time believing that I couldn't be prosecuted for a new, separate criminal act, even if falsely prosecuted before. Hmmm.

    Classically, double jeopardy would be:

    • I kill @cociu
    • The ghost of Johnny Cochran defends me and gets me off
    • I post on LET how I killed @cociu and confess fully, even showing a video tape of how I did it (with a candlestick, in the data center...)
    • The law cannot prosecute me a 2nd time even though I'm shouting everywhere (even on WHT) that I did it

    Just hypothetical, of course. I would never post on WHT.
