So you say your server powers off / reboots from time to time without you interacting with it? So then we have a problem houston :<
Little pricy wish you could drop the NVMe and go with SSDs. Those two are adding 114 euros to it a month! vs $16 for 2x SSDs.
@fLoo server goes down itself. It would come back online , if its restarted/rebooted from control panel.
Just for interest sake, what are you planning on using an EPYC system for?
Currently I have no use for it. However it would make a great VM host with it's 48threads and 128gb of ram along with SEV. However the NMVe is nice but not worth half the monthly price.. I guess they are just loving the fact that the EPYC setup has no loss of NVME performance like Intel does after the recent patch. I'm just browsing right now though.
@fLoo @RIYAD suggest you check for more similarities like the OS used and such. wasn't there something about some spectre/meltdown patches (OS/Bios) causing trouble? might be related...
also tagging @vfuse because of
maybe he can tell about the status of his servers, if still having them.
They're all online, one of them didn't boot anymore a week. I reinstalled the server (which took about 5 hours strangely) and it's working ever since.
They're all running Ubuntu 16.04
@Falzo , I did find some error when the latest patch for (meltdown and spectre) is applied , microcode would mismatch . I used centos 7.4 64 for the first 1week then switched to ubuntu 16.0.4 and still would get issue .
Hi guys, I am on hunt for server to run masternode ($MAN).
Min. req. 8+ cores 32 RAM
Dont want expensive thing tho.
So far my best bet was https://www.hetzner.com/dedicated-rootserver/ax60-ssd
But theres setup fee 119 euro
Now I found this company, same cpu no setup fee, thats better. https://www.webtropia.com/en/order.html?action=getForm&pid=RyzenProServer
I need it for 1 app
would get 2 x 120 GB SSD as its enough.
Is there no big drama and I should give it a go ?
Posts are around year old so wonder if any updates ?
Cheers.
You should have bought it when Hetzner didn't have any setup fees during BF.
Has anyone else received the 5% price increase of the server?
