@Falzo it's here:
okay, but if there is no VAT on your invoice anyway, there is nothing to be freed from. that kind of answer from the support clearly misses the point here...
My Xeon box was delivered this morning. I went with a nonconventinal disk setup, because I'm not going to use software raid.
So far everything seems to work as expected. The server comes with IPMI configured with a dedicated IP for management.
Benchmarks:
Disk 1:
Disk 2:
Very good,still wait...
@Falzo about VAT:
so, here we go. Xeon D-1540 on supermicro with 64GB as expected, also 2x 960GB SSD and 2x 2TB HDD.
geekbench: https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/5857410
SSDs:
the second SSD has a whopping ~250 TB written (TBW is 73 on that drive), so while everything seems fine that's not so convinving... I didn't setup raid or anything yet, so will see how to go about.
HDDs:
so desktop grade drives, one with nearly 2k bad sectors - ahem
this is going to be an interesting conversation with their support sadly... opening a ticket right now.
for what it's worth, some network (download) speeds:
@hopp3l better processor.
3 ryzen servers delivered as specced, HDD's with about 10k power on hours.
I got my Ryzen server deliverd as well , one ssd about 12k and the other ssd about 45k
could you share Total_LBAs_Written for both?

thanks. the wear leveling count on the first doesn't look so good, but that's most likely because of the age - 5.5 years is quite a bit... yet 25TB written is far from what I saw on mine...
while I don't nevessarily expect brand new hardware (even though those are their regular offers) that partially totally worn out scrap is disappointing. will see, if and how their support handles that, if not we're off to a bad start...
Yeah, I am curious to that as well. Though they did overall respond pretty quick to my previous enquiries.
They might just happen to find some hard drives in their trash can and decided to just put them into the servers.
support answered to the ticket early this morning and seems like they are going to change the drives - will see what they have in their bag instead...
Looking forward to the update:P
so far their support has been quite responsive and forthcoming. looks like he is actually working on changing the disks, maybe even the second SSD which is also quite old.
will post an update for sure, once I get my hands back on it ;-)
btw: got my invoice and the ordering price of 75,99 for the combination I took is including german VAT as expected. being a business customers here, I can simply declare and get back that paid VAT from tax authorities - so just the standard case for national B2B.
Received my Ryzen with 3 SSDs. Sadly im not fine with the network yet, wrote support. I feel like on 500 Mbit with 300 Peak instead of 1000 with 500 Peak.
Looking for the update...
I have not receive my AMD 1700x Dedicated server and still waiting...
Maybe out of 1TB-SSDs? I've got 2 new on my box + 1 used.
I've now got 5 more IPs added (asked by phone because its disabled for prepaid-customers within the first month), and got 3 days extra (because ordered on 24th and delivered on 27th). So far so good. Support has been superior to OVH so far
Lol they just told me to be less impatient, when inquiring about something they mentioned in one of their automated emails that seemed like it might be a way to view the status of the setup.
In reply to:
Which was to reference what I may or may not have misunderstood in an email:
Meh on first support interaction :P
are you going for the charge back? do it
Usually I just consider it money lost and go about my day haha. Last chargeback I filed was modules garden :P
maybe wait until 3'rd.18 then emails/calls can be more serious.
Yep thats true. I've been just lucky that i got my server. @jarland you wont actually pay for the server until you receive it. So if you got it on 3rd Jan then they adjust the billing to be 1 month from then on.
I've now tested the network further and i now got to 1 gbit download (which is fine) but i'm limited to 500 Mbit upload. Can anyone else please test it ?
Please use my own iperf3 server at http://speedtest.wtnet.de (10 Gbit / Hamburg) which is located at the DC of the company i work for ;-)
@fLoo it's here:

@jarland what server did you order?
