Our DC is not, but near San Jose...
Yeah, i was checking the ip address of the vps and it's near
san josesince it's onfremont (East Industrial)that is also nearHurricane Electric LLCwhere you have upstream peers to. Im just sayingSan Joseto make it easier to read in my own opinion. That's all. Just checking the general location of the ip addressI don't receive email verification to my email after long time...
cubes@equinix....
Did it manually, please try now.
first it was unmetered 50mbps, after that they enforced 1TB monthly cap instead and now when you create a new instance it is only 500GB of traffic monthly, after that they have started to charge for IP addresses (one dollar per month per ip, first one is free) so it is 2$ per instance of the cheapest vps if you rent multiples and right now cheapest VPS aren't available to rent. Russia hosting in the location picker is gone too after hong kong.
We do provide 50 Mbps for $0.99 and 1 Gbps for $1.99+.
Yes, you got some free bandwidth depends on a plan and extra for $1 per 1TB (is cheap, isn’t it?)
Anyway we are thinking about giving even more or do it cheaper.
Basically it is protection from ddos attackers etc. all mast all customers are happy with our free bandwidth packages per plan.
You are little bit incorrect about IPs.
First IPv4 is free, second is $0.59/mo
And for sure we work with hour billing, so will bill this on per hour basis (sounds cool, isn’t it)?
Yes, we do not sell new instances in Russia.
We never had Hong Kong, so only Russia is gone, and this is about sanctions and restrictions.
But we provide our services in California, Texas, the Netherlands, France and Finland.
And going to add more locations.
Cheapest instance are available in all the regions except Finland (out of stock, but we are adding more hardware now).
"We wrote own variant of OpenStack platform, which based on Kubernetes, so it will help us grow faster for our customers."
Wtf? So let me understand this correctly, you have OpenStack compatible API, and your deploying VMs via Kubernetes somehow? Did you implement a K8S controller? Or this just buzz word dropping?
As a Kubernetes fan I would love to learn more about what you actually did here...
We wrote a Kubernetes Operator to manage all our customised OpenStack staff. So our cloud is Kubernetes with OpenStack operator on top of it.
BTW, we are Kubernetes fans too :-)
Okay, that's very interesting, so Kubernetes is your primary source of truth for defining your openstack setup, I guess in your situation you dont need any kubernetes worker nodes so no kubelets?
No, we need worker nodes, worker = openstack compute nodes. So the Operator schedules OpenStack containers to worker nodes.
I do not think it is possible to use Operator pattern without worker nodes.
What happens after the monthly allocated bandwidth (e.g. 500GB) is used up? Will you suspend the instance or just throttle/reduce the network speed?
Edit: Never mind, just saw that it is $1 per extra 1TB
is singapore not available yet?
Not available, but we are working on it. Very bad situation with datacenters in Singapore now…
Also, we are working on adding new locations now around the world. And APAC too. Australia for example.
Anyway currently the 5 locations worldwide are available.
@HostVDS_com what will happen with the instances in Moscow, and do you still allow (seems like I'm still able to) create those instances through OpenStack?
I'm using you and the host you moved all your Russian IPs to, however latency seems very different and yours is way better than theirs, so I assume it's different DC location? or just transit?.
All Moscow servers will be transferred to another project with downtime and with keeping the same price.
Yes, you can do it via API, but it will be closed.
Yes, few different datacenters and ISPs.
All Moscow servers will keep the same ISP and you will be able to order the same servers.
@HostVDS_com
no ToS ?
ipv6 operational ?
Standard ToS (you can find on our website, but we will add more info)
IPv6 is in beta test, not available for all the customers.
so if i would order now would there be ipv6 or not ?
I think you should wait for end of beta test.
Ok, and when will that be ?
Not sure, we will announce
When will new server live in Singapore ?
I think Australia will be available faster…
Waiting
not yet xD
