Boomer.host is back! Amazing NEW DEALS on SSD VPS. From $4.95/YEAR with Dedicated IPv4 & /64 IPv6

edited December 2022 in Offers

Hey everyone again!

I hope you've all had a great start to the year. Sadly I have a feeling this year isn't going to be as good financially as 2020, and 2021 with the real inflation being at 10%+.

Luckily you got boomer.host who's a bit slow when it comes to figuring out what inflation is so here is another offering, much like the previous one but with some big upgrades.

Here are the main differences between this offering and my previous offerings.

RAID 5 compared to no redundancy
DDR4 ram compared to DDR3 ram (doesn't make a difference but oh well at least the CPU is newer)
MUCH BETTER templates. All templates, including Debian 11 were built from EZ Template
/64 IPv6 block that's easy to remember (xxxx:xxxx:xxx)

And finally the biggest improvement. You can now run Wireguard VPN with kernel support!

Pretty cool right?

Of course, we're at the same location and data center as we've always been. Data ideas, Texas. If you're looking for some more alternative locations check out millenial.host (with the inability to spell millennial, typical of a millennial, not a boomer :P)

Anyways here's our offer

Perfect for a WIreguard VPN used for IPMI, SSH, or other places where you need a static IP to whitelist. It will also work great with Dockers.

Haha yeah. I know you PMed me yesterday asking for new offers but I have no idea what you meant with since you're still alive :D

The boomer here is pretty young but still feels like a boomer.

Oh. Here I was thinking you were making a reference to being a boomer.

Yeah that's not going to happen. We own all our hardware and I can tell you that 768GB of DDR4 wasn't cheap. We're very liquid too and got enough funds in our bank to pay for expenses for more than a year.

The Boomer VPS has 15GB, get that one instead.

But this is a very efficient OS. it only requires 500-800MB, and when it says 5 GB storage, or 512MB ram you actually get that amount. No 470MB ram, or 4.7GB storage

most probably this vps remains ideal so never mind just purchased Invoice # 20221856

Don't suppose I can upgrade my old coomer VPS to the new specs and pay the difference or setup fee?

  • I cannot login to your new panel (my2.) with my existing account (can login to my.boomer.host)

It's expected behaviour. It's a new panel, Hostbill and I haven't imported anything from Clientexec.

I don't know if I will either. I might keep both my and my2. my would be a legacy thing where new orders would go through my2

    It's USA TEXAS.

Last time I did Yabs I got this on the Disk. I'm sure someone else will post a more accurate one later.

fio Disk Speed Tests (Mixed R/W 50/50):

Block Size 4k (IOPS) 64k (IOPS)
    Read 78.39 MB/s (19.5k) 130.99 MB/s (2.0k)
    Write 78.59 MB/s (19.6k) 131.68 MB/s (2.0k)
    Total 156.98 MB/s (39.2k) 262.68 MB/s (4.1k)
Block Size 512k (IOPS) 1m (IOPS)
    ------ --- ---- ---- ----
    Read 449.97 MB/s (878) 530.74 MB/s (518)
    Write 473.88 MB/s (925) 566.09 MB/s (552)
    Total 923.85 MB/s (1.8k) 1.09 GB/s (1.0k)

    sudo hdparm -Tt /dev/sda

    /dev/sda:
    Timing cached reads: 10578 MB in 1.99 seconds = 5307.90 MB/sec
    Timing buffered disk reads: 5954 MB in 3.00 seconds = 1984.26 MB/sec

Yeah I know. It won't be possible to move between servers.

  • Does the IP address works with Netflix non-homemade series?

  • Because you choose to setup things in a confusing way which will in the end make things more difficult for you and your customers... Hope your sort it out.

  • TEXAS is not the place I want

    I think so.

By the way the Debian 11 template is being strange. I would recommend you to use Debian 10, then upgrade to 11!

    How does the bandwidth calculated?
Does it include both in+out traffic or only outbound traffic?

Yes, both in and out. After it's reached it's not suspended but put on a 1 Mbps limit to allow basic SSH functionality. You should get reminders when you get close to the limit
