I like it
A very good point.
We did something similar with a local motorcycling forum (in Serbia).
The first one was really behaving like an "evil empire".
So we made a new one.
Many members switched completely.
Most kept visiting both.
Most new members went to the old one - since it did rank better on Google.
Also, it is a fact that the new one was made in a "free / uncensored / non-serious" manner, with all the pros and cons of that approach, so never became a place for getting much serious expert advice and discussion.
It was also never profitable - since that was the basic idea - no profit, no ads, just community run for the community.
So, I wouldn't expect any new forum to catch on - though it's not impossible.
Other things to consider is that forums are becoming extinct - less and less popular, being pushed out by other social media.
Another thing: people can get corrupt. Having had quite some experience in forum moderation - it takes a lot of self discipline to not become what you had despised and hated. Especially if more people are involved and some money starts pouring in.
FWIW, last posting in LEB promoting a provider that seem not to have any relationship with CC, having lot of DCs outside the CC range... (IWF Hosting)
Yeah but most of the offers are over leb limits...
wtf do you want? TWO offers?!
Right? Tiny tiny baby steps.
Give them 2 non-CC offers they will ask for IPv6. it's just never enough with these kind of people.
I can't wait for the $1/year IPv6-only VPS LEB offers.
30 year plans, hell yeah!
Glad that @CVPS_Chris has finally stated this and CC will be paying more attention to this community, I hope to see you more active on LET and its Discord as I know you to be a very kind and jovial person in private!
You can start by listening to the community and not kick the admins/mods that they actually trust and putting your shills there instead that start doing stupid shit.
Which was a shitty choice. You didn't only remove it from the forums but you also removed it from the discord server and made all changes (aka the audit logs) hidden. Meaning the users couldn't see if you ban, kick, mute or well anything of any user.
And you want to make the forums transparent? Why did you then start will making everything non-transparent?
Hi Everyone,
Hope all of my friends here are doing well. To answer a few of the questions that have been posed:
Yes, I am still involved with ColoCrossing and other Deluxe properties
Yes, LEB/LET has not received the attention it has deserved in the past year or so. That is changing.
For the past 4 weeks I have begun to work with internal resources here at Deluxe to spin up more focus on LEB and LET. This includes:
A generous investment in new highly technical content (approximately $8,000 per month)
More offers on LEB, goal is to post 1 or more offers per day from a variety of hosts, with a balanced approach to hosts outside of the ColoCrossing customer ecosystem.
More community give-aways, like what we are doing on LEB right now
Yes, we want to invest time, money and care into LEB and LET moving forward.
Looking forward to seeing this fresh, re-energized approach to something that is very near and dear to my heart -- LEB and LET. Would love to see feedback on our content creation efforts as well.
Thanks all, will be sure to keep in touch more often moving forward.
Thus, the end is nigh.
A hunter goes to the forest. He sees a bear and fires at it, but misses. The bear is nowhere to be seen.
Suddenly the bear taps him on his shoulder and says, "You tried to kill me, either I'll kill you or pull down your trousers and let me fuck you". The man chose life.
He goes home embarrassed, buys a bigger gun and goes back to hunt the bear. He sees it at a distance, fires, misses, the bear disappears in the thick brush only to pop up behind him a little later. The bear recognizes the hunter and says, "You know the choices."
The hunter, after being fucked again, brings a bazooka to get over his humiliation. He finds the bear, fires and falls back due to recoil. The smoke clears and the bear is standing over him, rubbing it's chin.
"You don't come here for hunting, do you?"
C-c-c-c-c-combo breaker!
This means, is it now feel safety if I make order to this providers when pay annually?

I saw lqhosting. Good?
Should I interpret "balanced approach" to mean that ColoCrossing is still going to be the dominant datacenter? Eg. 50% ColoCrossing, 50% not-ColoCrossing?
Which is perfectly fine and expected. As I said on page 1, if LEB even hit 25% "outside content", that'd be better than the literal < 1% that it is now.
It's that, or they just state that the site is only for CC customers which is also OK.
Just get the story straight.

Have the changes arrived yet?
There's been a single offer from someone outside the normies.
Need 6 months of clear data to see how dedicated they are to it.
Francisco
changes they are a-coming
That outside offer isn't even competitive, in my opinion.
That's the point. It's good to have a couple of those to highlight CC superiority.
But so blatantly? Are they really trying at all?
I'm sure there are a lot of hosts here on LET who would love the opportunity to finally get featured on LEB.
The day I start seeing any of the top 20 LET hosts get featured is the day I'll consider LEB a site worth visiting.
Dunno. That particular interpretation of 'balanced' would essentially mean that the other offers are 'excuse offers' to ward off criticism about it being a CC-only site. A truly balanced set of offers would have the offers be proportional to the distribution of (legitimate) hosts across datacenters. Hence my question.
Well I just submitted an offer to put this to the test, the first one in 5 years I believe.
Sadly the help desk logs me out immediately after I hit submit every time, so I assume that is in part why only offers from ColoCrossing brands exist, no one else can submit them haha.
Might want to make that 'change' a priority @jbiloh @CVPS_Chris @trewq
Send them an eMail via IPv4 with your offer. Or a fax. Or, yes, a pigeon.
Did you try submitting from a ColoCrossing IP address?
