cmon guys give this kid a break. He was clearly trying to install microsoft dos operating system on the vps from a web tutorial.
bumping thia thread for @anthonysmith
Ppl are very jumpy on the DDoS subject here.
I am personally convinced shove* had nothing to do with what happened and happens in UK, those are "professionals" using "professional" DCs that allow the stuff, at least this is how it looks from here.
Probably not going outside UK as outside local exchange on major carriers the packets can be traced to the sources if there is a will to do so and the DCs will see some costs for this.
They can also only hit small ppl without the means to get a core to handle millions of pps without breaking a sweat, at least not for every location.
It is really sad and unfortunate nobody can organize things and track the packets flow, spoofed or not,t hey still have to come through the wire.
There are so many victims that threw the towel, no wonder it continues, while stop it if it is working ?
If you think that shovenose had the knowledge to shove a DDOS of that caliber at the UK, you've been greatly mislead.
Checking the HTTP headers would have told you that. Their website tells you the softwares that are vulnerable to the attack. You attacked the webservers because you wanted to see if you could actually break something. It doesn't matter how long the attack was. If you stab someone in the eye, it doesn't matter how big the knife was.
I can't even...
+1
what i do not understand is why did he not try it at his own instance knowing it is something not clean?
tbh i really think he is trolling
Lol what
I feel bad for his new host, @Francisco .
Shove came back to us?
I thought they left in a big hmph! after the 2 power issues in Feb.
Francisco
I was trying to offer him $50 to set up my special concoction of anti-ddos serum. He wanted something cheaper than the $215 he was quoted elsewhere.

Perhaps this?
You know, I think we should just let news of his stupidity osmosize to us instead of go actively looking for it... just to give him benefit of the doubt.
I literally had it up at the same time as this thread. But yes, I agree. This ban will be good for him and everyone else.
No new host, just cloudflare and (finally) nginx
Wait... someone set up nginx for him?
Sites back up as of right now, wasn't a few minutes ago.

KeyLime Hosting. Interesting.
HAH. Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): Unable to resolve the server's DNS address. Looks like Shovenose forgot to register a Domain Name!
Looks like it doesn't exist anymore...

Flashing lights = backups, apparently.
Best tweet:
@get_simple: Website moved to different hosting server, if you get a "suspended" page your DNS has not propagated yet.
