What does he have to do with Get-Simple, he certainly cant have coded it.

    He's on the dev team

    HOW!

  • @GetKVM_Ash I cant help wondering why the hell shovenet hosts the GetSimple latest download.

probably because he's part of the GetSimple team, an administrator on their forum, and has contributed a few mods for it. http://get-simple.info/start/team/

Btw, his site is still down, most probably someone is DDOSING him.. so for something we are blamming him, someone from this discussion is busy in doing same .. .. is it fair ?

  • Is GetSimple a well known CMS? I haven't heard of it before @lowendnose

    I love get simple

He was caught DoSing someone. Now his website is currently down (yes this is true) but it can't be assumed that its someone from here. Honestly it could be someone else unrelated to this thread that coincidentally could be doing it right now. We don't know without proof.

Personally, I'd rather have no DoSing ever.

I think Digital Ocean canceled his service due to the DOS.

Currently all we know is that they shutdown his VPS due to the DoS. We don't know if he got kicked out or not.

  • Hardening a web server against slowloris takes about a minute.

I wonder how a low-bandwith attack script kiddy tool like slowloris affects a node? It typically uses a few hundred sockets, which is nothing.

  • If it is him, shovenose is officially worse than me, at least I have the brains to realise a DoS attack here is stupid as hell. :P

It's not just you! http://shovehost.com looks down from here.
  • Down for me too. Tracert stops at "SERVERSTACK.edge3.Newark1.Level3.net".

Nor can I load the site on Bright House Networks, 30/2 plan.

  • use his alternate site :)

    Again, tell his mom.

  • @ftpit said: use his alternate site :)

    http://who.is/whois-ip/ip-address/96.45.82.132 (that site)
    http://who.is/whois-ip/ip-address/192.81.219.78 (Shovehost)

    Different webhosts. :P

  • Guys just to clear up something, we/I do not think he's causing the issues with UK hosts, hence why it is here and not sent straight off to a solicitor. I want you to know that we are taking these kind of things very seriously and will investigate every attack against our infrastructure. If we find you, expect a public shame or a solicitor email depending on severity.

@Shovenose I hope this will teach you a valuable lesson and that you will come back more mature and with your head in the right place.

All I can tell you at this point is 6 cores capped from non-user processes attempting to handle the PPS. This exposed holes in my monitoring preventing me from painting the exact picture. This node typically averages under a load of 2 and handles roughly 6,000-12,000 PPS throughout the day. Dual E5-2620. Speculation welcome.

Common shovehost, move your server to our xen-hvm vps before we ran out-of-stock
