60/h for 1700$ WAT?
In North Korea maybe.
That's roughly $10.63/h. My university pays the food-service/dining student employees that much. No thanks.
Dear Neoon,
Thank you very much for pointing that out. That was a simple typing error on my end. It has been fixed in the main post now.
Thanks again.
Sounds like decent money for someone in India if I'm not muddling exchange rates.
$7.08/hour.
I'll make more at a local McDonald's.
Let me introduce you to:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_European_countries_by_average_wage
and stop being such spoiled 1st world brats, tnx.
@rm_ Wikipedia is not a legit source.
People there also deserve higher wage than this if they can do sysadmin work.
Thanks for the feedback. I would like to ensure everyone has seen this reply.
Visit the provided link, the sources are all listed.
Still not a trustworthy source.
Alright.
Wikipedia lists the actual sources for each number in the overall table.
Well face it, "sysadmin work" is not a rocket scientist position, so surely not by 5-10x compared to average.
4000 USD sounds better. But 1700 USD for a company you never heard about... Hmhm...
What does the amount have anything to do with the company's reputation?
$4000 from an unknown company sounds more suspicious than $1700.
There's being a sysadmin, and then there's 'sysadmin work'. A lot of people think they're one and the same, but they're really not.
Then it's probably not a job you want to apply for.
There are many companies in the world you have not heard of.
lol people want 4k a month and $20 dedicated E5 servers
In some countries 1700 USD is a good income. For Singapore it could be hard if its not weekly
I am not understanding why $1700 USD is low when large providers offer a base a salary that is less than that.
I would say that its a really good salary based on the fact that this is a small to medium provider.
In any case if you are interested apply, if not don't apply, no one is forcing anyone
lol
Not in that sense.
Hehe, that's true.
Add a position for web design. The mobile site is hideous
It comes down to 10.xx$ per hour. Still decent ?
SYSadmin job in Greece in a small to medium company or for a position with no extreme demands, is paid ~1000-1100€. Same in Portugal (I have a friend with ~4 years of experience and he works 40h/week for 1000€ per month and he is really good at his work as a sys-admin to a local web design and hosting company). And, believe me, there are a lot of very capable guys in all of Europe
Yes, as far as I know.
How much did you pay your web dev/designer ?
$1700/m working from home is a great opportunity for a lot of people, it's really that simple. The correct (internal) response is either "no thanks" or contact the OP.
I've had programming work done for 10 Euros an hour and it was above average wage for their locale, and the work was good.
One upmanship about wages for a job opening that you'd never take..err
It really depends. If you're explicitly living in Singapore, it may be plenty to live on, but in a country like the US or Canada... a decent flat will set you back $1200/mo.
Keep in mind that you'll also need to pay for transit, necessities (toothpaste, a razor, etcetera), and food.
If you live in a country with high living standards, then $1700/mo won't be enough to live on. With $20,000 (before tax) a year, you'll even qualify for government assistance! I guess that's something to be happy about.
Less than my monthly rent payment for a 2bd apartment.
