Now if they added the ability to load your own OS/Image then it would really be interesting.

Doesn't seem like a big gain to me over the initial ARM offering with the same specs/price. Interesting though.

Eh, you could say the same thing about DO. I think it's worked out pretty well for you guys. ;)

how the hell to login via ssh its impossible to me :D wont let me in :/ is there any initial password or what ?

  • jackwz said: "Our prices are VAT exclusive."

Just checked and my account is corporate (anything with valid VAT can be corporate) and excluded from VAT (this is not valid for orders in France). Also, every order outside EU won't be charged with VAT. So, for most of us, the prices are VAT free.

You have to upload a SSH key first. See "Credentials" in their panel (top right).

Create a SSH key, download it to your computer and login as root using this key (in PuTTy SSH>AUTHKEY .
Then, if you like to login without key but with password (not recommended) chance sshd_config to accept password logins and restart ssh service, after you created a root password.

  • I'm confused on the Direct SSD thing. It says it's cleared when you power off the server. Why is that? It would been much better if you can install your OS and apps there.

They have in C2 (at least the 16MB ram model)

I got C2M for 17.99€. If there is a interest, I can run any benchmark.

How about this directly connected SSD drive ? Can you post the model from smartctl ?

  • WolfWolf Member

Nice to see they send the offer to my inboxes but I still have to wait for the invite...

  • Interesting, but I don't think it's anywhere near as intriguing as the €3 ARM.

They aren't cheap or powerful enough to be great value, and the small amount of disk space further limits that.

I read review recently. It looks more like a Samsung 850 Evo by test results and description.

What? 50gb SSD is small? Please point to a better value.

  • So they totally stopped the arm ones?

That's a shame keeping both would have been great, with the old setup cheaper for flat files storage for example, and this one for those who need more CPU power.

But I'm not sure the new CPU is that more powerful if it's more powerful at all... The direct SSD for database is fun BUT I/O will be the bottleneck only is the CPU is powerful...

  • Great .. I have a C1 since last few months and now stable..
