Because even he knew that this site wasn't his anymore.
Our 'pony' thing came many years before MLP got remade Check when MLP came out and check when Frantech got its new site.
Francisco
hai
Yeah, that's the one thing we've never been able to do. Sorry, but we're not going to lower our standards.
Just goes to show that you don't actually pay attention to what's posted here. There have been several posts explicitly detailing that our PONY has nothing at all to do with MLP. Way to fail at research again :P
That's a long ways from 150TB's though and you know as well as I do you don't have the capital to offer legit 150TB's to each consumer, unless you mean they all share a single 150TB pie which doesn't really say anything without specifying max they'd each get.
Nice ninja edit there Chris.
haha my phone wont let me embed an image. #dislike
No <img> tags? O_o
Whatever, I seen your post bragging about a my little pony color book a "fan" sent you. You guys will do anything for attention, even advertise features that aren't ever up or don't ever seem to work, like DDoS protection? I've noticed companies are here who are much more professional in their posts, who don't make big claims but yet seem to backup everything they do say. IperWeb has been in business what 13+ years? I'd take that over "pony powered" servers any day. But that's just me.
I give up I hate this phone:
This is for you @aldryic ;-)

Slow down there cowboy. I'm not talking about some $15/year vps that any teenager in their bedroom can sellout in a day. I'm talking about the 150TB storage plans your boss was just talking about. Hell... sellout of them, fine, but lets see you offer, oh, I don't know... 100 plans? Come on. A hundred 150TB storage plans. Should be simple for such an organized and highly successful company such as yourselves.
That was Fran and he wasn't "bragging". Just sayin'.
Do you understand LVM? You are talking about shared storage like is used for OpenVZ, BuyVM is offering KVM with dedicated storage to each VM
@Francisco never talked about them, he talked about offering 150TB of storage plans, not 150tb of storage.
LOL. One of those would be handy :P What phone, btw? (Fran's pretty addicted to his Samsung Note, and my rooted HD2 running droid seems to do a fair enough job if you're looking for a replacement)
I'm sorry, if you want your own gifts, maybe ask your mom to mail you some cookies?
Our DoS protection is live, and working just as we claimed it would. Prove us wrong
You mean your intentional misquoting? Anyone with common sense would easily read that as '150TB worth of storage plans', not a single plan having 150TB. Tell me... do you have tattoos on your arm that remind you how to breathe? You seem to have some difficulty figuring out simple things on your own. (Like maintaining a consistent hosting company)
I broke my iPhone and picked up some HTC phone until the new iPhone comes out later this year. I thought I would give android a shot, but I guess I am just too much of an iOS fan
Well, this explains a lot.
Okay. Well in that case... who gives a fuck? Nobody cares if you use one giant storage server or ten smaller ones. That makes his quote even more retarded.
Haha, understandable I suppose. Believe it or not, I used nothing but Windows Mobile until recently rooting this HD2 (WM was much, much easier to modify than iOS or proprietary OSes on other phones)
The point is, we're well aware that some of you merely copy our ideas and scrape the leftovers after we sell out. Simply pointing out how hard you would fail should we choose to actively dominate a market, if you'll excuse the lack of humility for a moment.

Excuse me for a moment. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Miami Heat 95 Knicks 65 if anyone cared
AFAIK, LEB staff is not getting paid at all (those currently writing those "half baked posts" at least)
No they don't, as far as I know
You're confusing LEB and LET (once again). The only LEB+LET staff is @Chief. LET staff do not get any offers nor they're listing anything.
That's nice that's how you see your customers...and you obviously don't understand the low end market. Most people have more than 1 VPS, and I seriously doubt you'll find many customers who are exclusive to BuyVM. And BuyVM is not something to the world that no one has ever seen before... your site design is most likely copied or "inspired" by others, and you're not even a very old company, nor do you even have the best hardware in the low end space, by any stretch of the imagination. Nor do you have the most customers or even the best deals. Your company is popular because of perception, limited stock, your engaging on a personal level with consumers and because of the carefree attitude you and Francisco have. This doesn't make BuyVM better than all other companies though, you just have the spotlight currently, that's all. So getting arrogant is not wise, and is a good way to lose business and hurt your companies "perception".
There's a massive difference between arrogance and honesty. Consider that before you make another post comparing your site, and LEB/LET
Its only around 9k to get up to 120tb, our limiting factor is power in coresite. we have more than enough sitting cash to do it, we just need to find a dc to do it in
Drives are cheap if you know where to look
We dont use ovz for storage remember.
@vedran I was referring to LEB specifically, my understanding is various writers have been selected to speed up the frequency of posts on LEB but are handicapped by having to wait on approval by Chief or the dragon admin. I know you guys don't get payed that's why I mentioned the Mozilla thing(all the volunteers doing all the work for free and Mozilla collecting its 100+ million dollar check a year) is really the same thing here.
I was comparing your site actually, and my site isn't second to LEB or WHT. In fact any providers they send me emails showing me their deal listed on either I just ignore. Deals on my site get more exposure than on WHT, and deals on my site look better, are easier to find to the world, on site and off than LEB to say the least. Try googling "chicagovps deal" and see who's site comes up. My site is all over bing and google for many keywords, lowendbox just has a few locked down because someone probably manually set them there @google. LEB is a blog that's failed to innovate or grow with the times, it's key asset is community and domain longevity. Fortunately for it though CVD has taken a backseat to my other projects, though i'm still gonna keep working on it.
Theres a gun in Garry's Mod that does just that,

Don't pretend you guys are anything special. Outside of LET (and maybe a few threads on hostloc, but no real host has to pander to Chinese VPN users), you guys are relatively unknown and nobody gives a shit.
Anyone, and I repeat, anyone can sellout a $15/year vps node(s). That doesn't make you a leader, that makes you a host that lives off of burst yearly orders. You can say whatever you want, but we both know why you are always sold out. It's not a new marketing strategy and we both know you guys aren't getting rich from it. I don't know how you get paid for doing billing/support, but I'd be willing to bet that it's less than minimum wage.
I've been doing this since 1996 and I've seen a lot of hosts come and go. I've seen a lot of hosts who are delusional. I've seen a lot of hosts who don't realize that they don't matter... there is always another host for your clients to go to and there will always be someone who does it better than you do. To think you are anything special... and especially to say that other hosts "would fail should we choose to actively dominate a market" is probably one of the most idiotic and hubristic things I have ever seen another host say.
Do do it already. Put everyone else out of business. Bust out those yearly vps plans, storage plans, and "custom" vps panel. Put us all out of business and show us all how it's done.
We have our own version of Goodwin's law:
