@SP7 said: I think there are some networks issues.
'apt-get update' was fetching with 10kb/s, anything else (login, reinstall) is working fine.

Which Debian mirror are you using? Make sure you either use deb.debian.org (which is a CDN powered by Fastly) or a local mirror in the same country as the server. You can apt install netselect-apt then run netselect-apt to determine which mirror is the fastest from that location.

@PandoGulf said: Any Milan, Madrid or Sydney got provesioned yet ?

Mine's not provisioned yet. I'm just waiting patiently :)

  • It seems that they have fixed the issue on their control panel. I can reinstall the server now

Are there any tips for using their panel?

    1. The initial root password is wrong
    2. All function of the panel are not working

Tip: I don't F5, I go to another page, wait 10-30 seconds and then click to where I was to get a better status. There's no real time feedback like you might expect.

  • Hello @hosthatch, I noticed that the KVM storages are only offered in a certain location.

Is there any reason they are not available in other location (eg: New York)? Is it because of the low demand?

Sorry if this has been asked before.
    Thank you

I was also specifically interested in New York, and at one time (probably a couple of years ago) it was on their shortlist of sites for rolling out storage servers. However, they later decided not to do it, because, if I recall correctly, they felt that the Chicago location adequately covered the eastern US.

While I can understand their decision, I still would prefer to have a New York location. I find that New York offers good performance for all of the US, plus acceptable ping times to Europe, so it's the perfect middle point for serving most of my clients.

You could've just PMd him that link instead of posting some other provider's sales thread in another provider's sales thread.

Sorry, it could be just me, but I find that to be very disrespectful/rude.

Hosthatch has quite often been not on time without communication, apology or any other kind of update and if there was an update for being too late, this came too late too. ;) I think that's something you have to get used to with him. Their general processes work more or less within their given timeframe though.

  • Does anyone want to sell Stockholm VPS for $30 or $60? Please send me a message

DANG! Teach me for not looking till today. I have the older version of this (from 2018?). Its been super reliable: 2x 3.0Ghz, 2.5GB Ram, 2.5TB HDD, 6TB Bandwidth, AMS - $84/y

2 cores? that's a great deal. Cherish it! I missed out this time, too.

pretty solid iops and speed u have here..

  • @hosthatch

hey Abdullah, I think it would be good, if you could write a short comment about the actual status of the provisioning, esp. the awesome new location bundles ;-)
I guess quite some people are still waiting for it and would really like to hear just some statement...

no worries, I am totally convinced you will deliver and I have all the time in the world to wait - however I also think not everyone will be that patient and I'd really like to not see any more drama over a few days delay.

sorry for jumping in here and maybe post something, that's a bit more uncomfortable, however I want to be fair in both ways positive or negative and therefore can't stay just silent ^^

TL;DR; please let us know what's going on and when to expect delivery on the open orders.

@brueggus said: I've noticed the same one some boxes. Seems like it only affects IPv6.

So I think you're right and the SSH dropouts only affect IPv6. I was running an rsync all day yesterday (uploading 80 GB of photos onto my storage server, with Comcast's slow upload speeds) over IPv4 and it didn't drop at all, whereas rsync over IPv6 eventually freezes/drops. Maybe I should open a ticket about this.

  • Has anyone had BGP set up? The guaranteed setup date was 31 December... meanwhile it's been almost a month without a response to my ticket to get IPv6 and BGP.

one of my tickets was addressed & closed yesterday. it's about the extension of invoice due date and was addressed dec 23.
the rest tickets remained unhandled. two concerning Christmas deals, the third about invalid template when reinstalling os, and the fourth I raised yesterday about wrong billing as I was charged again for the above extended invoice that they promised to extend to the 23rd of Jan.
hope hosthatch would complete their Christmas box deployment and handle remaining tickets asap.

Fast/instant provisioning is normal and I don't want that.

If I wanted something quick and cheap, I would just go the Hetzner Cloud way, but I wanted a bang for the buck kinda deal which I'll be keeping for some time, even if it was ordered/purchased in 2020 and deployed in 2021 :joy:

Sorry for the silence guys. I had to take a break and spend some time with friends/family after being extremely burned out.

The team is working though. We should have any pending orders provisioned by the end of the week.
