Proxmox VE installed without any issues from the ISO provided...however did not know how to use it with the 2cores and 40GB disk...may be can do several linux KVMs
Hi...is there a dummy's guide to do this using the proxmox ve? Will be using IPv6 for directly reaching the VPS over internet right?
I wish that I could help but I'm not using Proxmox VE. (I'm using this VPS as a work environment, with no need for further virtualization.)
I think that there's a lot of documentation about using Proxmox VE around (I would start at https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Get_support ), but yes, the more specialized the issue, the trickier it can be.
Perhaps someone like @Falzo would have a further recommendation.
Set up some KVMs on lvm-thin and see how it handles the disk overprovisioning. (enable fstrim+discard on guests)
If you really can't find it please don't hesitate to contact us again. We will help you
Absolutely. We also manage some projects with heavy traffic usage (~ 150 TB monthly), for such cases Hetzner is great as bandwidth is expensive in our data center. We make bigger and bigger commitments, so our traffic price goes down consequently, but it will take some time to make "Hetzner-like" prices for traffic
An own VLAN is possible only with dedicated servers / housing currently. But we can add internal IPs for free which can not be reached from outside.
See my previous answer. Internal traffic is always free.

Tim
I really don't need another idling server

You all are making it damn difficult to resist with this activity and enthusiasm.
Have been resisting for days now. Luckily no one posted Centos bench yet.
I know the feeling.
This is my first new VPS of 2019, so I don't feel so guilty, plus I'm really using this new VPS for work. In addition, I didn't renew an old (smaller) netcup vServer in February. How's this as a rationalization?
If only it's monthly payment, I'll gladly replace my Contabo
I'm searching for a use of the whopping 10GB ram. Please help me out...
elasticsearch cluster.
I don't know what to do with 4GB already. Maybe one day when I become a big data researcher I might need more RAM to crunch data.
Minecraft Servers can eat RAM if that's what you're looking for
Kids will also make sure to attract free DDoS hits :S
Seems like it's out of stock.
Yesterday, it appeared that it was selling quickly, so it was probably to be expected. I think that their Christmas special lasted longer (but it also cost two euros more per month).
I missed this one, I will blame my boss for giving too much task. -_-
disk performance is not good..
If you see my serverscope result above, disk speed is pretty fast. Maybe everyone's installing their new servers now? I think you should open up a ticket if this speed continues
Yea.. Do a daily test for a week and average out the score to get a more reliable overall performance indicator.
Gitlab CE + CI runners all-in-one box.
40GB seems right-sized for source code.
Run a pihole behind openvpn too while you're at it.
If I was anywhere near 70% Ram util% on my 22Eur hetzner i7, I'd bite too.
Gitea, instead of Bloatlab, maybe worth a try.
No problems I sorted out by installing English language packs. I suggest you keep the English version of ISO also available for mount as well. Thanks for your support.
Correct. Now we can sell a few more servers due to some cancellations etc. and will reactivate the product now. But after that it's really sold out, it might last a few hours
Regarding the disk performance just a short information that not every host in this generation has the same disk setup. We run 8-16 SSDs in every host; some hosts still use SATA, some newer use SAS and these are faster of course. However, away from benchmarks you should not notice any difference with real-world workload.
Best Regards,
Tim
I thought the disks were pure SSD not SATA or SAS?
They are, but also "pure SSDs" need to be connected via SAS oder SATA.
@PHP_Friends , is it one per customer? can one ask to be in a different node if already have one.
You can order several servers. Please open a ticket to make sure that your VM is set up on a different node, that's no problem.
@PHP_Friends great policy on node and private ip. I was considering a second purchase but needed storage more. Please make a offer next time that has higher storage. Thank you.
Hello,
I'm interested too, but your site isn't in English (german only)? The interface to manage the VPS is in English? Thanks for the answer ;-)
Just ordered, can I order another and double the resources?
