cPanel server, VPS node?
btw 2 server benchmark shows 2000+ Read IOPS and 1000+ write on FIO vs 374 / 166 for hetzner machine with SW raid ... This deal keep to get better for SAS drives
does somebody check raid controller specs... It has write memory but i think it's not enabled their is with no flasbacked addon or bbu... but result is great I was expectig 800 / 400 result in raid 1
Mine servers still is not installed cause I do not have time ...
P.S Someone mention that do no like SAS cause they are more fragile... I never own HP server and never with SAS so on their site it says that they do recommend SATA, and NearLine SAS 7200 for workloads under 40% and SAS 15k got 3,5 relability of SATA and unconstrained workload
Does anyone know what model SAS drives they use? Press any key on the virtual console when it says "press any key for rom options", then keep hitting F8 for raid controller settings.
Finally got my drive replaced.. Guess these are 3.5" 15K SAS..
afaik, Billing will start each new month, and you must terminate the services before date of 20th or you must pay bill for that on the next month
It's enabled and comes with a bbu, me thinks...

Yes they are with cache enabled and bbu
Cache Board Present: True
Total Cache Size: 256 MB
Cache Backup Power Source: Batteries

Is this the first one?
@Nekki nah.
How to check if My Drive has any problem or Not !
benchmarked with Raid 1:
http://serverbear.com/benchmark/2015/03/17/2nH610TPD8PqFRrG
I'm pretty pleased, I was giving the same money to an old KS2
I purchased 4 of these servers and so far, so good. With the price point on them, I was able to drop some of the VPS I have and consolidated those systems on these servers.
Before anyone asks here or in PM. No, I will not sell or outsource these servers and will ignore such requests...
I actually received a warning from my control panel regarding the disk problems.. but if you wanted to check your drive you can try..
apt-get install smartmontoolsDisk A
smartctl -a -d cciss,0 /dev/sdaDisk B
smartctl -a -d cciss,1 /dev/sdaSo I've enabled the write cache, is this suppose to improve the DD test results? cause it does not seem to make a difference in my case.
Dedibox Limited
HP SAS model- 2 drives RAID 1
HP SAS 2 drives RAID 0
WD SATA model- 2 Drives RAID 0
Kimsufi KS-3
HGST SATA model- single drive
I think Kimsufi's comes with pretty good drives.
It shows Health Status : Ok
look for things like reallocated sector count and runtime badblock to decide yourself if health status is good (should be 0) ;-)
Oneprovider must have picked up all these servers. expect it from them at a higher prices.
Oneprovider has a closer relationship to Online.net than having to hunt for and pick up random deals from them via LET and Twitter.
@earl @Falzo
@Mahfuz_SS_EHL
Looks fine.. when my disk failed smart status did not say ok it was,
"SMART Health Status: HARDWARE IMPENDING FAILURE GENERAL HARD DRIVE FAILURE"
DD is basic unrelated to real life usage test) Write cache is not for DD, it is to compensate IOPS... it's 256MB memory only...
3MB/s average wirtes with - peaks of 10 MB (for few seconds) can generate 200+ iops froma a single innodb 2GB database which is over hetzner software test io of 166 write iops or HDDs on this server will show 40-60 loads and on peaks website using that database slowness will be visible with naked eye... and average load on HDDs will be over recommended workload
You can go with less safe InnoDB config for you project or do unsafe writebacks but some webmasters valued their projects and will not do that
I get 150ms to ovh and 153ms to Hetzner with Centurylink (routing through Houston).
That's the only 'end-user' ping I can do... Hetzner would be better in that case, as it's only +3ms even with the extra kilometers between france and germany ..
anyway,
From GMO Internet in Japan, 258ms OVH and 275ms Hetzner,
From Softlayer in Mexico, 137ms OVH, 142ms Hetzner,
From Hostodo in LA, 137ms OVH, 166ms Hetzner,
From Linode in Dallas, 116ms to OVH, 123ms Hetzner,
From vstoike.ru, 40ms to OVH, 40ms to Hetzner,
From time4vps in Lithuania, 45ms to OVH, 34ms to Hetzner
ed: my guess about the earlier "Better network" comment is probably related to speeds. i've always been able to hit 100MB/s on a hetzner machine, not even close on OVH, w/ gbit port
http://www.online.net/en/dedicated-server/dedibox-classic lol they are back
@coolice
couple years back a few of us here on LET bought the HP blade server from dataschack which I think came with a e200 raid card.. I recall playing with the write cache did increase the DD test..
Wat? That's a different server.
not the limited edition.. just their regular offer with the 40 euro setup fees..
Well yes, and no:
Yea maybe they bought their own stock xD , looked the same to me actually same E3-1220 16 gigs ram 2 bay config only diff is the disk space and setup fee and price.
