Still awaiting mine.. ordered at 7:45pm (GMT). Had a ticket say it would be delivered in a few hours, 8 hours ago.

They've replaced one of my SAS disks now - they are both the same size now.

    • A - SAS - 419.16 GB
    • B - SAS - 419.16 GB

Anyone else that had two disks not the same size get S.M.A.R.T. errors?

@earl - they are pretty quick.

I think the difference in disk size depends on the raid type.. on raid 0 both disk shows the same but on raid 1 first disk is larger, at least that is what I noticed on mine..

Still waiting for them to change my drive thought..

@earl - When I chose either Raid option (or no raid) it showed them as different sizes.

    Have you issued a ticket?

Yup, about 12 hours ago.. no big deal, still works for now.

  • How can i get the iLO ISO boot working? I've addred the iso under virtual media but my server always boots from the HDD (even when pressing F11 during boot and selecting 1 for CD-ROM boot)

One thing I didn't initially notice is the 1115 (E3-1220) does not have hyperthreading.

The 4514, 4614, 4814 all have hyperthreading. It will be interesting to see the impact on real world virtualization performance.

    But, what's about HDD performance?.

Did you add the ISO properly or is it bootable? I mounted proxmox and got mine working fine.

Nevermind, i figured out the problem. I was trying to add the ISO (located on one of my webservers) via the iLO webinterface, but it seems that the public internet is not reachable via iLO (although the image appeared to have mounted properly). Mounting the image via the remote console and selecting a local file worked fine.

No idea yet (haven't benchmarked yet ..... I am traveling and snagged this deal while in an airport). I don't expect it to be much different from the others though.

  • I was hoping they make offer for low end server < $10

and without setup fee of course

I'm sure it's a YMMV thing, but my three Kidechires don't. My 4814, 1115, and 1215 do, though.

Mine was like that, I asked what the wait was and got told they had no more in stock and try waiting until the end of the day - and if they had none then I'd get a refund, I just asked for one instead.

  • NomadNomad Member

I'm planning on waiting more and not asking for a refund :)

    So, you're still waiting?

    Thanked by 1netomx
  • Looks like this time online oversell it.

Hahahaha no; it's why a couple of us have failing drives :-p

Guess I missed the word "only" out of that

You'd think though that the drives would be checked before reprovisioning though?

I'd have thought the drive age would be a better indicator of if they're failing due to age/usage.

  • It would be great if someone who would make use of these machines could take over stock from those who buy, then do nothing with them. That said, having customers paying for a service they don't use sounds like great business sense to me! :)

  • Ahh I missed it crap...
