@awson Your instance bandwidth: http://imgur.com/j6Yspvl
This was located in Japan and is subject to 100GB limit versus 1TB.
You should have checked where the traffic was coming from (and directed at.)
Fully aware, but the traffic came from nowhere.
@awson - Did you open a support ticket about the traffic so that we could have verified this by tcpdump, wireshark, etc. Without any documentation on your account with regards to this issue it would be difficult to support your claim of it coming from no where? We are not seeing this "traffic from nowhere" on other instances.
@DaveA, any ETA on the snapshot function?
Soon.
Define : soon? :-P
Just soon :P
Note: I don't actually work for them or have any affiliation (other than a customer) with them.
Ok then. :-D .. btw, how are the Japan node perform? or AUS? my location are in Indonesia. In theory, which one will perform better to me?
I haven't done much testing with Japan, but it seems decent. Their Australian location is not available as of yet.
Thanks Brad
Did they remove the port speed cap or are you guys still getting 100mbit speed?
Their Netherlands node is still capped to 100mbit, just tested. I get 1gbit on my server in France.
my strorage vps
From which node is this? Singapore connection are sooooo..,slow :-p
Still waiting for Seattle to become available; I decided to try them because there are so few inexpensive providers in Seattle, but I'm starting to think they list locations as a selling feature, with no intention of actually stocking them. I don't think the $20 of account credit I have will ever be used.
Didn't want to read through the whole thread again but DaveA you or someone else mentioned about adding a feature to upload our own isos or to mount remote isos for an install etc. Has this been added yet (I haven't signed up yet)?
@twain http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/497171/#Comment_497171 - Already 10 +/- days late, and it's not an option yet. But they do offer Windows Server 2012 template now (but to a much higher price)
You can get your billing doubled even not at first payment.
but the limitation is that total up to $100.
for example:
You are fresh to Vultr, and don't want to put a lot of money into a new service provider before you tested. then you charged $5 at your first payment, as the promotion https://www.vultr.com/news/1/Vultr-Promotion!-Matching-up-to-$100-of-initial-account-funding!, you will get extra $5 credit, that's 50% discount for everyone, after few days testing, you find Vultr is perfect for you, and wanna charge more, but the promotion is not available for you because it's not your first payment.
...but...Actually, that's just because the website is developed as "automatically charge credit after your first payment", so you can ask them for that manually by ticket, that's what I have done, so following steps would be:
charge as much as you want, for example $200, you will get $200 credit immediately.
then open a tick to ask them for the courtesy .
if success, you will get $95 extra credit because they match up to $100 total and you first payment made a $5 payment.
by this way, I got my extra $75.

Many many thanks to Vultr team for your great support and awsome product.
@amo_xoo thank you for the tip. Have sent them a support ticket now. I asked @DaveA a couple of weeks ago about the same, but did never get any reply.
I only added $50 the first time, and would like to add $50 more. So hope this works out. Do see a future at VULTR.
Yes it worked.
Thank you for the tip @amo_xoo
@amo_xoo, I took up your tip and did the same. Support allowed me a second shot at funding my account so, I am a happy camper.
Not many hosts that I ever have prepaid $100 on, ever, beside Prometeus. But I think VULTR has a future.
@alexh - Seattle will be available in 7 business days or less. If our shipment arrives tomorrow it could be as early as 2-3 business days.
We are beta testing this on Monday(see other thread), if all goes well we will open this feature up to everyone by end of next week.

Any other thread made this many views?!
I suggest to change the title to "VULTR - A Digital Ocean Killer" :P
I love service with them, next time I'll add $100
really hot thread....
Figured Id share my love of Vultr. Getting great speeds on my VPS. Prepaid $75 as a gamble but this first month has been awesome. My only complaint is the lack of additional IP addresses and being too late to sign up for the beta.
