    The client area is up, but can't do anything or see any stats. Can't do reinstall either in clientarea.php or in "Enduser panel" or see server specs, etc. I have a ticket open for 24 hours as I'm trying to wipe my remaining services before the server goes down. I do still have SSH/SFTP access, but would like to do a reinstall just for safety (best way to do a full wipe via SSH if I still have root access?)

    I had SSH/SFTP but unable to connect. Gonna have to take the L here and I was only just recently planning to backup and transfer (early Feb) due to CPU issues.

    control.mymanagementpanel.com:4083 works but ofc won't start.

    FWIW the current status in the NL location:

    • I could login to the panel (my.nexusbytes.com) without any problems ... but ...
    • The panel seems to work halfway OK and my servers are all shown as active, incl. the "this parrot is dead, deceased" UK VPS.
    • The "enduser panel" shows all VPS as inactive/shut down and none of them can be selected.
    • The NL VPS themselves can be ssh'd into though and work normally (e.g. not slower than usual) and connectivity is fine too.
    • So, backup still is possible, so backup your data! while it's still possible.

    side note: @kuroit thanks for your friendly and generous offer. Unfortunately though your web site seems to be another case of an utterly incompetent web designer (light gray-ish text on dark white-ish background), so I left it. Sad.

    What should I do ? Can anyone help or is it too late and will probably never have acess to make a backup ?

  • My NL server is still working fine and accessible via SSH. No performance issues. Backups are in place.

    Have a little more than a couple of months of service time left till the next renewal but doubt it'll last that long. The enduser panel shows the VPS as inactive and can't be selected.

    I think it's safe to say that everything that's currently up/online, could just "go" at any time.

    The only way for things to remain online is if he pays his bills, and by looking at how things are going, it doesn't seem like that's going to happen.

    Pack up your things while and if it's still possible for you to do so.

    As a friend, just concerned about his well being so I'm still trying to reach him via all means possible.

    But other than that, business is business, and will be treated as such.

    I think its safe so say that you are not getting back any backups. I lost everything already and now starting from scratch on another host.

  • Just got a VPS from @kuroit offer Thanks! Time to start moving things over, Goodbye Nexus Bytes, its been a great ride! Would've been 3 years this summer. My NL server is still up at the moment.

    About the enduser panel, I've had issues with it in the past before things went downhill, showing it was offline while its online, and reboot/start/shutdown, etc not working.

    I respect what Jay might be going through, but this could have been avoided by just selling the business before all this. I am sure a buyer would have been found. Heck, I would have bought it.

    For what it's worth we reached out and talked to him about a buy out last year right around the time Jord was coming onboard.

    Jay didn't seem interested and assured he was going to right the ship and get things working.

    I left him be after that and didn't hound him. I did message him once the nodes started falling, but still radio silence.

    I hope he's well and it's just a thing of being fed up with hosting.

    I don’t want to reveal anything too specific, and I’m not sure how I feel about contacting resold customers without an agreement with the reseller at least. I am trying to reach the owner via personal methods that have worked in the past.

    I really wouldn’t be worried unless the reseller actively terminates users right now.

    If not, I suppose the customer would not be able to add the same domain into another account?

    There’s a roughly 50% chance they’d be on the same server. In that case they could prove domain ownership with a TXT record and we could work it out.

    Haha! Thats default WHMCS theme, new one. I can't say I'm proud of the current state of the design but we have lots at hand right now, new nodes (i7s/Ryzens), new locations (Germany & Singapore), mxroute email, and couple of more surprises!

    I understand that appearances matter, but bit more focused on expansion right now.

    PS: New design is coming soon! ;)
