Just to let everyone know, Japan and Singapore will be going offline soon, RansomIT reached out and told me, so if you have data in Singapore or Japan I’d recommend getting it out now as quick as you can.
Damn.
Really feel like we've been watching this in slow-motion for the last year or so and now it's speeding up.
Melbourne to be last location standing 💪🏼
Edit - there is probably no one on the node anyway, Jord 8x my specs pls
NexusBytes is sinking
Also just been told the company used for support is also stepping out, so I would get any data you can, it’s a sad day but the ship is sinking. I still can’t get ahold of him. So I don’t think this is going to be resolved.
Goodbye nexusbyte.
Is it a medical issue, would be cool if somebody checked up on him in person, just in case, it's weird if he got your help and suddenly months later just stopped paying all bills.
Looks like their [email protected] email address (which is what they're using for inbound DNS related email) is now bouncing mail
Why has no one considered that @seriesn may have passed? It was known that he was in poor health (despite this, accidents can still happen to anyone...) and I'm not sure why people didn't see this is a possible risk for their services as it was a one man shop as far as I know.
Wanted to ask that but don't know much about the situation.
He was in "poor health" when he took a selfie with two friends. Don't be so gullible.
RIP Bob.
I might be incorrect, but I thought it was more mental-health related issues - obviously that doesn't mean he couldn't have, I just didn't think it was a terminal-type illness. Again, could have read it incorrectly in the past!
https://treefiddy.yoursunny.dev is on NexusBytes free hosting that is on Hetzner.
It's still online at the moment.
Didn't occur to me that that could be the case, however mental-health issues can also be fatal in very unfortunate circumstances and situations
To be honest, for me it's quite logical that things are speeding up now. I mean, the last offer here was a bit over 1 year ago; NexusBytes was a low-margin provider, with quite often offers for a year, so basically, when the year is over, you need customers to stay with you.
With all the issues in the last year, not everybody will do that, apart from people who don't need the service anymore. So the balance goes the wrong way. For me, I had one VPS with them, out of the last offer a year ago, was satisfied with it, but decided to not continue it because of the unsure situation. And I won't be the only one.
And that things go a bit faster now, that's not unusual either. Normally you can postpone a bit after non-paying, but if the word is out that you are not the only company who is not being paid, margin to continue is zero.
Could it be possible to track down his family or something and contact them? This is very sad to see…
I've thought about it. We're friends on Facebook, but I don't want to overstep any boundaries.
Title updated.
Good luck folks.
Hope all goes well.
Hi!
We had a few requests regarding Refugee Offers and decided to help out:
For everyone affected by the situation, we offer 1 month free AMD EPYC VPS in Dronten, The Netherlands without obligation to renew.
Plans: https://my.server-factory.com/cart/nl-amd-epyc-vps/
Just send us a Screenshot from the Nexusbytes Client Area showing your VPS and it’s Specs via Ticket and we let you know how to proceed.
Open Ticket: https://my.server-factory.com/tickets/new/
Hope that we can help.
Kind regards,
Max
The sharks smell blood!
But with that said, we got some new hardware coming online in the Netherlands today. Same network, same building as NexusBytes (WorldStream). Won't be doing crazy price matching and our support is slow, but if you know how to use your VPS and don't need hand holding you'll have more or less the same service you had before.
You mean Refugee offerers to what I had before or Regular offer you already post in Offer section?
I just mean I'm not interested particularly in matching the plans and pricing. Maybe it was sustainable for him (but look at where things are now), but it's not with us. I can do some discounts on our plans, sure, but 4 vCPU for $12/mo (for example) isn't going to happen. Happy to help where able, but within reason, of course.
Does anyone bothered to issue a ban for exit scammer?
Kind of sad to see the situation here, and the title change!
With that said, we're happy to offer whatever help we can.
Email service - 1 year of free email service, and then same pricing as NB for recurring years.
WHY? We have decided to move with mxroute, mainly for transaction emails, so we have lots of space to spare.
Storage/Backups - Free storage/backup VPS for 2-3 months, and then if you want to continue, we can discuss pricing.
WHY? We have roughly 80TB HDD space available on RAID5 in London, UK which we use for our backups + storage VPS for clients.
Entry/Premium VPS - Same spec + same pricing for any VPS plan you had with NB!
WHY? Because we can! London, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Dallas, Zurich, Frankfurt.
You'll need to provide proof that you had active service with NB!
Don't want to nitpick but I think the more common saying is "off the radar"
Hope he's alright as mental health isn't something to mess around with.
However, that being said this whole thing should have been done away with long ago. Most people could see the writing on the walls. I would highly suggest everyone move away from here. Or as above says "Abandon ship!"
