@VirMach any idea what's going on with 107.174.204.xxx (LA)? I can't tell if the VPS is stuck in migration or my VPS is broken as I can't load the control panel in both the billing area and on Solus.

If it's broken, can I just get a recreate in another location, such as San Jose (no data is fine if being relocated) instead please?

  • Had to click Fix/Reconfigure Network after powering my formerly Chicago now New York station up but it came up fine. A little annoyed I didn't know before it happened but it worked out fine in the end.

    Just throwing this out here...
If any of you people that are abandoning VirMach have any of those really great BF deals, PM me and maybe I will give you a few $$ to transfer it to me, so it will not be a total loss for you.

Transfer ticket takes so long that the relevant service has expired.
Transfer ticket gets merged with other tickets.

I'm willing to wait and pay renewals for the right deal.
I have no other tickets open. Besides, why would anyone open a ticket other then to get a transfer?

P.S: Chicago to Secaucus NYCM101 migration went flawlessly for me.

@VirMach - FYI there is something going on with DALZ003.
I expect maybe IP stealing abuse of the second IPs that were left on VMs after Ryzen migration.

I have two VMs on this node, both have two IPs. Both show using more than 500GB of transfer last month in the billing panel. I track transfer over the virtual network connection.

    I show #1 using a total of 76.29GB in/out for June
    I show #2 using a total of 98.51GB in/out for June

I reinstalled #1 and used the switch IP button today after the VM was unsuspected to change the main IP.

On #1 I show 0.70GB used for today, the billing panel shows 13.39 GB.
On #2 I show 2.03GB used for today, the billing panel shows 16.21 GB.

I just thought you should be made aware. :)

It's all about VLAN and ARP... I dont want to mention this again until my LAX VPS began to get crazy as well... Seems Vir put multi of IPs into the old LAX VLAN which works normal before. Now evey place got the same issue, it's fair enough.

I've been monitoring that as well, but I don't think that is it this time, because when it is, I see the traffic on my interface, this time I am not. It only shows up in the billing panel.

    Subject: Blacklisting - Service "BumpyShort-VM" 45.130.105.1x(pbl.spamhaus.org)

Posted by System on 07/01/2022 (15:25)Operator
Your service's IP address 45.130.105.1x has been blackedlisted for: "https://www.spamhaus.org/query/ip/45.130.105.1x"

Please visit the link above for more information on how to remove your IP from the blacklist.

The VPS has no network, nor can be accessed from VNC in browser.
Now it's only "online" in the control panel, and network reconfiguration did nothing but restarted the server.
The IP got blacklisted as soon as it's assigned, and I don't think there is anything I can do about it.
    @VirMach

    Edit:
The server is really partially online now, which can be accessed via VNC. I'll try reconfiguring network.
    Thank you.

My VM is looks like available (migrated) from NY10GKVM95 to NYCM103 node. I just checked it randomly, because the network status post not updated yet. The VM was offline, but I was able to start it on the SolusVM panel. The VPS was not reachable on the internet (VNC access worked), so after a simple 'Network Reconfigure' button (SolusVM too) everything is fine. I got a DediPath IP from USA/NY, so it's fine too.

We're on the same node. Here's what I have for $13/yr

Quite misery when we consider that this it Ryzen node, network is also very poor + additionally they now gave me as new IP blacklisted IP.. + migration taken in several cases 2 days, 2 days VPS offline, this is real "migration".. Short uptime usually - many reboots etc.. Misery all.. I cannot say that this provider is good and i am happy at them, and absolutely not suitable for something more serious or something when you earn some bucks and can loss some buck due from often outages, sorry. Yes, only reason why i keep these bunch of VPSes is "because it is CHEAP" (oh yes, i am too greedy), they are sure not worth imo more money. But sure Ryzen is good move for Virmach - now, w these power cpus they can oversell 3-4 x more (or even more) than on old Xeons

  • My host has been out of contact for a long time, your service is really bad
Even if it is a forced migration, you should quickly solve the problems caused by the migration, instead of complaining everywhere. This is not our buyer's responsibility

  • Wow, still not fixed. Was really satisfied so far. But this is too much. My server has been offline for 7 days without any support or being able to do something about it (reboot, reconfigure, reinstall, recovery).. Unfortunately this disqualifies VirMach for any serious PROD usecase..

So strange so many servers down with limited communications. Hoping they are able to get things straightened out soon - it's been a perfect service up until recently.

I can log into the vps via VNC, but the network doesn't work (ssh connection failed).
In vps, ping: www.google.com: Temporary failure in name resolution. When I install through the network that comes with the background, vps cannot find the official system source.
Reconfigure Networking does not work (operation success but no network).

    @netrix @picalson
For convenience, if the 'Reconfigure Network' button didn't work, you may try what I did.
Do anything at your own risk.

    1. In VNC find out how your VPS gets IP address. Some people reported no network problem with dhcp, but I set static IP with systemd-networkd. So the migration of my VPS is doomed, and I had to update/etc/systemd/network/default.network accordingly.
Other flavours of Linux may vary, so consult the wiki if needed.

    2. Then restart the networkd service, and I got Internet access (still has no IPv6 in 2022, after 10 years when 2012/06/06).

ps. I have no idea how large the network is, which means we have to guess the netmask and gateway. The original netmask in my case is /26, which failed after migration, but /25 is okay.

So good luck when updating your network file.

You could temporarily move the content you have on those servers that you think are unstable to another host and wait it out if you have super important sites hosted there.

I move the content of 3 VirMach vps to a single hetzner CPX11. It's billed hourly and you end up paying less than $4 even if you keep it for a month. Worth the peace of mind I think. You can move them back once things settle down.

About overselling, VirMach covered that few pages back. Post facts if you know otherwise! :)

They did excellent job when migrating from OpenVZ to KVM a couple of years ago. This time problems are mainly from network configs, and hopefully are resolved soon.
