  • @MiguelQ they probably detected this by the flapping ethernet port on the switch.

Lost as what to do now! :(

You need to register to your countrys local OVH forum.
I cant register elsewhere either. Use a vpn from UK to register to UK forum.
Kimsufi.com is only a french forum, I think you need an IP from France to register.

I dont currently have any issues, I was just wondering how HW support works.

  • Where can I activate RTM?

  • xsetxset Member

@trexos its on by default. you can also disable it in the control panel in monitoring section

  • And this is part of the GTI?

  • @xset Thanks for that. Just got an email from support saying the same thing. I'm based in the UK, but am on holiday, so my IP comes up as US. Will use a VPN as you suggested.

On another note. I should know better.

I ordered (by credit card) two KS servers around the 25th July, KS2G and a KS16G. Both orders got cancelled because my IP came up as US, despite the fact I have 3 servers with them already.

What gets me though is that I re-ordered the KS16G again straight after I received their cancellation email (not realizing it was now only 1 drive/no RAID) via the same IP (I still wasn't using a VPN), and the order went through, got processed, and delivered!

I've sinced cancelled that order as I did place the order for the RAID 1.

They do check. Earlier this year I had a server in BHS rebooting itself, about once a week. Little after the third time I got a report from OVH that a faulty power connector was replaced.

Maybe it was a full cabinet of servers rebooting.

I bought ks 2g on 25 July 21:53 GMT+2. My order id: 2147085x and my server is still not delivered.

  • Bought mine on 25 July 16:00 GMT+2 (CC payment accepted at 21:00). Got the KS2G server active today at 10:00... delivery at 13:00... Now installing stuff...

no, you can cancel this and order another after the billing period expired. You might get lucky next time.

JFYI: I am OVH customer from Russian Federation. None of their forums are available for registrations from my country. I registered initially from ovh.com (French site), but forum.ovh.com is closed to me.

I asked Russian-speaking support staff members. They don't know when/if OVH forums will become open to my country. Our money are good enough to accept, yet we aren't good enough to receive support we can expect according to ToS/AUP.

Of course OVH media like Twitter channels keep silent when asked about the above. Just ignoring requests.

As soon as current billing period for a hosting service I keep at OVH ends, thus will end my relationship with them. Kind of unpleasant to be treated like that.

Don't jinx it. That can be reversed then people will complain that their money are not good enough :)

No, as I said before, OVH is not a trustworthy organization, does not respect their customers, even the big ones that had big servers and provided hosting in the past from there, we have quite a few members here that have been shafted one way or the other, my own experience is bad, etc, but the sad thing is that people do not care, they want to believe, even tho OVH does not need their money and makes all the possible moves to show that. They only need cheap publicity and succeeded in showing that being a customer is not only a privilege, but you need to go through long waiting, a lot of hoops and be lucky at the lottery for the dubious honour of being treated like dirt.

You may say that is just a provider afraid will lose daily bread when we are sold out for months, it does not concern me, sooner or later everyone will understand that. Heck, even if it is free, I do not want to lose time anymore to setup a server which I will keep or will be usable only if I am lucky, because I am not.

In fact, I follow a simple rule: there are no counter-ads on the Net. Only ads. Any mention of OVH just gives it promotion.

So I just made up my mind about that and see no point in posting in my media anything else. When asked, I will comment while I deem OVH unworthy of trust. In all sore and gore details. Otherwise, I just watch this show here.

All the rest - yes, I agree with you. Save jinx part. I don't believe in jinx. :)

Well @Maounique, my experience was pretty damn good.

    Before this:

    • the guy on Dutch phone support is always nice and kind
    • They have been pretty damn flexible to me billing related when I wanted to move away from OVH but didn't make it in time with experiation date

    3EUR offer's next day:

    • ordered 2 with paypal, 1 with bank account
    • got first one that was paid via paypal <24 hours
    • Didn't really bother me they removed PayPal as I was used to bank transfers at OVH anyway
    • Ticket about a simple question took almost a week but did get an accurate response

    Not too bad imo

@Frost you say "pretty damn good" and then "not too bad" :P

Yeah, as I said, i am not lucky :) And, no, I dont believe in jinx, was just a joke, and not that much in luck either, but when chance is a factor in whether you get a good service or any service at all, then something is wrong.

Looks like a common problem. I used and keep using services of many providers. There always are people who either feel they are treated awfully, or perhaps indeed they are. But if I feel they are good, I just keep using, watching the trends, of course.

Internet is big enough to find provider to be happy with. :) All the rest is but personal experience and strokes of not too good luck (to those believing in luck).

  • Guess who finally received their KS2G :)
