HostSnowy launching on 6th February
Greetings,
My name is Stan Catswon and I am the Founder and Managing Director of HostSnowy. HostSnowy was established with the aim to provide affordable, high-quality and reliable VPS Solutions aimed for all business types and sizes.
We’ve been working for a few months now on setting up HostSnowy, deciding on pricing, features and at the same time not compromising on Quality, Uptime, and Reliability. In the last days we are putting everything together and we are ready to announce that HostSnowy will be officially released on the:
6th February 2012 @ 7:30am GMT
hostsnowy.com
At the current stage pricing and packages will not be announced, however what I can say is that our prices and packages are very competitive and are aimed to fit everyone’s budget.
All our packages will be stock-controlled to help prove to all that we are not Overselling and that we are not Overloading Servers.
Once the stock runs out, the products will be put in what we call Pre-Order mode thus allowing you to reserve a seat once we launch additional capacity. Note that in order to pre-order you will have to pay for the first month. We are aiming to release additional capacity every 25th of the month however for this month we may be doing an exception and releasing additional capacity more quickly.
All our current and future Servers will have the following configurations (at least):
2 x Quad Core: XEON E5620, 8 Cores x 2.4Ghz
24GB RAM
2TB Hard Disk
RAID1
OR
2 x Hexa Core: XEON E5645, 12 Cores x 2.4Ghz
48GB RAM
4TB Hard Disk
RAID1
We look forward to provide you a quality service.
Thank you,
Stan Catswon
Managing Director

I like your family name. But don't forget to read the rules and move the topic under offers section when you're ready to offer something.

Is this going to be a RAID 1 or RAID 10 Setup, Software or a Hardware Controller?
I think if you are using software RAID with this server, Your I/O will be the bottleneck.
@fan Thanks for the headsup, i have read the rules here at LET and i'll be moving it to the offers section tomorrow once we're live!
@EaseVPS Its RAID1 and using Hardware Controller.
It seems i forgot to mention that our Servers are located in Netherlands.
Finland FTW! If you can offer servers in Finland, you would receive much more customers. There are many offers for Netherlands already.
@rds100 +1 for Finland, we need something new
good luck, Stan, may your venture succeed, and you be blessed with many happy and long term customers!
cheers -
oz
@rds100 @Christian - I've noted your suggestion and we will be researching this for the near future. Our aim is however Quality, Uptime and Reliability so we'll do a in-depth research to see what is available in Finland.
@ozfingwe Thank you for your wishes!
Goodluck with your search in finland, There is very few datacenters, Around 11 in finland.
The bandwidth prices are also on the expensive side.
@EaseVPS Yes i am aware of that but you never know, it doesn't hurt visiting the Datacenters to see what i can negotiate with them
When I first read this I thought "Finally! A new provider that does some planning and testing before release!" but then I went to your website and read this:
And then I read this:
Some conflicting data there.
Launching a new internet business is like organizing a wedding: the more you think and plan the less are your chance to see it really happen :-)
BTW: Good luck Stan!
@stancatswon seems cool! where are you from exactly?
HostSnowy was founded on the 26th January 2012.

Eh, I don't think one day discrepancy is something we should be concerned for?
When dates don't match up, I get concerned. Also, 1 week ago is not "a few months".
@Kujoe "Officially" HostSnowy was registered on the 26th of January 2012, until our application was approved we didn't register the domain either - hope this explains things to you.
In the whois information of the domain you can see that the email address is "[email protected]".
HostRail's SEO was called Constantinos Coudounaris.
The way that both writes is also alike.
Obviously a scam from the same guy again.
@OneTwo Hmm, i am investigating this as we don't even have that email address.
@OneTwo - I have checked http://who.godaddy.com/whoisstd.aspx?k=DVGHRndBXTtwe/9KOOXgsw==&domain=hostsnowy.com&prog_id=GoDaddy - i cannot see that email address anywhere. I would be interested to find out how that email address ended up there.
Yeah my bad @stancatswon, It was on the dns records.

scamming is obvious.
I am investigating.
What are you investigating? It's pretty obvious.
