Is it any hardware and network benchmarks of all datacenter?

    CZ Benchmark, DE Benchmark

    @Nyr said:
I would pick CZ since their presence is way bigger there.

    THX for help.

Gulf said: I've compared Aruba network with Linode in the UK. Aruba is the winner. Linode is a bit faster to Dallas and Singapore.

Download tests from some random locations aren't indicative of network quality. Linode UK is way better.

Will not agree. Linode has bad nameservers (/etc/resolv.conf), I had to replace it with Google dns. Also this 1 euro server runs the same software faster than Linode 10$ server. And Aruba provides much better EU network connectivity, just compare ping and etc.

We were taking about the network:

Aruba UK = just some transit for now.
Linode = great network with lots of peering and direct connections to many important networks.

Not really, they get BW from Telecity only - Peering to UPC, DTAG and anything related to DTAG sucks.

Do they have any test IP's?

Could you share benchmarks for these 2 regions

Still lots of peering to willing networks and way better than Aruba, which is just transit to everywhere.

  • Has anyone detected network outages this morning from 10:14 to 10:31 UTC on Italy DC2 ?

  • Can you change location of the instance? Also can you prepay 1 year?

I think it's not possible to change the location, and yes... you can add funds for 1 year.

What if you rebuild the VPS, can you change it or your account is bound forever to a location?
About price I meant PAYING for 1 year in advance not adding funds, since you could add €12 but if you're billed hourly or monthly you can't be sure the price will stay the same in the next 11 months...

Well I actually needed the Italy location but I guess I will choose another one close enough,

You can create vps on your desired datacenter. It's not a problem, but I think that you can't move a vps from one datacenter to another.

  • How much time they usually take to process order? I sign-up and paid successfully about 7hrs ago, still didn't receive cloud login.

Not sure if they provision orders during the weekend.

Uhm, what exactly did they do? 10 days ago, the dd results in Germany were 26,4MB/s and now

    root@some-server:~# dd if=/dev/zero of=test.bin bs=1M count=3000
    > 3000+0 records in
    > 3000+0 records out
    > 3145728000 bytes (3.1 GB) copied, 3.38556 s, 929 MB/s

    Wut?

Glad you highlight this for us!
FYI, this is what has happened. During the hardware provisioning phase, a small amount of servers were installed with a wrong disk controller model which affected the writing performance.
We have replaced all the controllers with 0 downtime and then, disk writing performance has come back to normal standards. Now everything runs correctly.

Let me highlight something else for you:

Nyr said: By the way, they were the guys announcing hijacked IP space for Hacking Team/Italian police.

Is there a statement about this somewhere?

  • @ArubaCloud
You plan paypal payment in arubacloud.hu ?

  • @ArubaCloud Any hope for ipv6 ?

  • @ArubaCloud is it allowed to run a VPN on the €1 a month instance? I didn't see anything for / against it in the T&C https://www.arubacloud.com/documents/aruba_cloud_cgc.pdf

€12 a year for something I only need once in a while as a UK VPN seemed like too good a deal to pass up (particularly compared to the £12/y deal I was looking at from DireVPS), but it seemed polite to ask :)

Actually IPV6 is in the roadmap agenda, so we plan to release it in the near future
