  • lol really? I mean decline the PTR or cancel the whole account is a difference. As I see this is just a tube site link site, so not even porn on the page itself.

  • Hello Jon, how do you assume that of a customer?? I can gives you right now 10 references of hosting company that I do business with. including 3 that advertise here on lowend.... plus I already had two domains set up with your company with theirs PTR record for almost a month.. if Wanted to used for illegal stuff I had a month.. .. I have Not send one email beside two for testing my set up... it is your company You can do what ever you wants.. but that does not give you the right to accuse or judge a customer.

  • We're not taking any risks with being tied in the middle of an illegal operation and we're not convinced of the legitimacy of this customer's intentions.

You just keep insulting me, without not even knowing me!

  • @GreenValueHost you should reject him from the beginning not after a month. He have not done anything illegal yet, so why reject him now?

I was not convinced that you had legitimate intentions and you seemed like someone who was going to send bulk spam mail with your PTR records which is why I declined to set them for you.

We don't welcome spammers here and we like our blocks to be clean. I'm still not convinced that you're going to be using your account for legitimate purposes so therefore I'm cancelling your account and issuing you a refund.

Best of luck at your future host.

Just for the record Mr. Jon Nguyen "the accuser" from GreenValueHost

I publicly give you permission to contact this hosting company with my name and home address that you have on record, and ask about me.

GVH = Jon, an underage that claims he's not the owner of GVH but we all know that after the LET drama, he just put a puppy in his behalf but in real, he is the owner.

A 16 years old boy that is... "GreenValueHost Operations Director" (oh, boy, everybody wants to be CEO-CFO-COO etc.) and have the wright to decide what is moral and what isn't.

I don't host or browse adult websites, but I don't judge people that do adult bussiness, as this bussiness is legitime.
How a 16 years old boy can see if a website is "fishy", just by it's appearence that simply host porn affiliates for earning money? Is there anything in his TOS/AUP that forbid that?

How can a company's representative say that?

GreenValueHost said: I was not convinced that you had legitimate intentions and you seemed like someone who was going to send bulk spam mail with your PTR records which is why I declined to set them for you.

How , Mr. Jon, do a client that in your opinion is somebody that WILL (not do now) sent bulk spam looks? Is that written in his face? Is that written in his ID? And what have someone to do to convince you that has legitime intentions? Beg you in tears?

A good hosting bussiness is not only a stable node with cheap prices, but a bussiness be run by matures (and this has do do with many factors, not only age) and proffessionals.

    TL;DR:
Don't buy anything from companies as GVH for live - critical purposes. Just buy if you don't mind your box or account be shutted down with no legitime reason, if you just want to play and don't mind to lose 3-4 bucks.

Just to declare this: I am a customer of GVH, not having a serious issue with the box but also, I don't host anything critical there. But these bussiness practices frustrating me!

honnestly i dont blame Jon, seems like a communication issue more than anything the initial rant was extremely hard for me to read and I gave up half way. I cant imagine anyone else reading the OPs responses and not getting annoyed based on his choice of words/grammar combo ontop of his "fishy" website.

you have other providers rejecting customers based on a flawed logic fraud checks asking if they should reject the customer; that customer did nothing wrong yet everyone sided with the provider that if they felt the customer was going to do harm they should reject. However in the case for GVH this is all their blame.. not here to defend GVH but lets be a little more fair about this.

    Not anymore.

I think the problem became personal for Mr Nguyen, because the client was talking on his backyard (LowEnd)

    TL;DR

GVH is full of more **** than the assumed domain name, nastydump.com

We'll proceed with the client's request and allow his service to remain active following the compliance of our updated policy on pornographic content found here: http://www.greenvaluehost.com/termsofservice.html - We decided that this would be a better approach to the issue.

**Pornographic Content/Material** As of March 25, 2014, clients hosting pornographic content/materials on our servers must provide us with a valid copy of government-issued identification and undergo extended manual fraud screening which may include phone verification. Failure to comply may result in the account in question hosting pornographic websites being suspended.

  • do keep us updated on the outcome

Refusal of Service <- standard clause since you asked nicely.

The only thing that trumps that clause in a ToS are anti discrimination statutes which does not apply here.

@tony20 Welcome to the Excuser Master @GreenValueHost i will never ever trust again that he will change. You may tracking back all the GVH Complaint, how he behave and handle this complain. I hope i am the last one that got this trouble for renting cheap vps with strictly use

  • Same guy, same company with almost similar problem. Fffuuuuhhhh

  • I don't think that they should comment the sites of the client. If a client is asking us about rDNS we just do it, without asking for a "justification".

    >

^^ This! I was wondering why the OP doesn't just use an SMTP smarthost to handle mail delivery?

And then to have a host making morality calls on people's content ... wow, you gonna be a busy hosting company reviewing all the sites & content your customers are hosting on your servers. It is either allowed in the ToS or not; pick one and move on.

So much drama .... so little time. Can't we all just get along??

A good reminder why I mostly just lurk here.

    Cheers

Well, you know, Jon can't legally view porn since he's under 18. Maybe he hasn't visited the site and has no idea what the content actually is, so he can only guess from the URL.

    @Tony20

Adult is a large part of the internet economy. There is no shame in it and there should be no provider to judge you about it, though anyone has a right to refuse service and if a service provider is not willing to work with you due to adult content then move on and give the money to someone else.

For Jon to sit here and completely add terms of service because of this thread forcing webmasters of adult content to go through a process different than any other customer is ludicrous.

Reverse records are great, it should be a no-questions asked request to provide the entries. He obviously has no understanding of these types of issues.

The bottom line is, if Jon is not going to respect you then dont tolerate it. He has a abusive past toward customers that are not English primarily, and a shady past of basically bullshitting things as they occur.

Add your issue to the toxic pit that is GVH and the best thing to do is not support Jon by continuing service.

The attitude that comes across from every GVH discussion: a customer is privileged to be with us. Get off the high horse GVH.
