@DotVPS said: What improvements did you make?

some caching, a small ramdisk for some of said caching and a bunch of MySQL tune ups.

Some adjustments to hopefully help with at least some SYN floods until ponaegis is rolled.

    Francisco

What is this word derived from, I just see Aegis and think of the tier 1 backbone that went out of business for allowing spammers in the 90's

  • @Francisco said: Give us a break... beind ponaegis...

Umm, sure, OK, no problem. Whatever it was you said :)

  • @miTgiB said: What is this word derived from,

Aegis is the name of a (shield|breastplate, depending on version) used by Athena and Zeus. In common usage, the word describes a powerful shield or guardian.

It's not just you! http://buyvm.net looks down from here.

    Wonder if it's another DDoS?

Aegis is also the name of a kick-ass anti-air defense system deployed by the U.S. Navy. As I recall, @Francisco is a former Navy SEAL, hence the connection. Also, @Aldyric used to fly Tomcats. His call sign was...wait for it..."Pony".

  • I rained death from above to provide cover for his wet insertion.

That is the funniest thing any mortal man has ever written. Nice.

  • Seriously on the stock wiki, instead of "All times are GMT-8",
you ponies are better off using "All times are in PDT or PST (depending on the date)"

    A Canadian Navy SEAL?

Why release stock when my modem dies on me? 3G Mobile Internet sucks I only have 100MB usage left. :-(

  • @Kairus said: A Canadian Navy SEAL?

    Here ya go!

  • @miTgiB I don't think Canada has a military.

  • @Kairus - You'd be way off about that. I'm in the US Navy, I work with Canadian Military every day. :)

Was a joke, and I go to AF BMT this summer, hopefully I don't have to work with the Canadian military! I bet they're overly nice (another joke).

And I'd have to google PDT and PST to find out when is that

  • @yomero said: Is const trying to get a VPS :D

It could be given his connection type is DDOSL :p

  • @Kairus said: I go to AF BMT this summe

Ah, memories of Lackland AFB in the summer. I was in AF BMT the summer of 1983, then training after, wintered in Denver at the now closed Lowry AFB

  • @vedran said: And I'd have to google PDT and PST to find out when is that

But if they're already using PST/PDT, then you still have to google or just assume that you'll be an hour off half the year.

  • How about I just start documenting the times as "right past happy hour".

  • "GMT-8+DST" works too.

  • In any case, next round is Monday (26 Mar) at 0600h FLC (Frantech Local Time).
