You can upload your own iso AFAIK but need to bring your own license. If you run unlicensed/nulled you risk your account being suspended just like with any other copyright enfringement.

    Yes, looks like OOS.

  • I signed up at $5/mo for 1TB storage, can I change to $65/bianually?

Why not order a new one and cancel the old monthly? There isn't much lost if it's a monthly. When the new service is delivered, simply copy your data over with rsync.

  • I'm looking for 8 cpus vps :(

I don't think we will continue doing new RAID50/60 nodes considering past experience. No matter what the maths look like, in real world usage, we've had arrays that took 2-3 weeks to rebuild, while RAID10 of similar size took 1-2 days. No matter how well they are managed, there is always an inherently higher risk than RAID10.

With nearly 8PB of storage nodes deployed and growing, I'd like to sleep better at night. :)

Do you plan to move existing storage nodes to Raid10 anytime soon?

I don't believe forcing people to switch to a higher priced service will make anyone happy, so we will instead offer an upgrade path where existing users can pay the difference and get a new server instead.

Do you plan to discontinue the old plans for customers who don't wish to take such a path? $/TB is more important than redundancy to some of us, and if wasn't for the performance implications of shared single disks, I'd prefer JBOD over any kind of RAID that the provider didn't trust.

I mean, if you sold the following - which is hardware equivalent to the listed 10TB plan, if I understand correctly - I'd have ordered one as soon as I saw it the money transferred to my debit card. ;)

    6 CPU cores
20 TB dedicated disk (i.e. entire physical disk in pass-through to the VM)
    16 GB RAM
    120 TB bandwidth
    $450 per 2 years

    You forgot something:

     16 GB RAM
     120 TB bandwidth
     Balls of steel

I'd rather have two copies of my data - on two different disks - than a single copy on a RAID5 or RAID6 array of any significant size. :)

    50% more.
    1 GB x 1.5 = 1.5 GB
    1 GB + 50% = 1.5 GB

  • Sometimes seeding can take some cpu time for a seedbox. Anyone want to share their experience ? Actually, are torrents allowed at all ?

  • Are CPUs EPYC Genoa or Milan?

I think their nodes are build on Epyc 7443P and 7513, depending on location (some locations have both, then randomly assigned).
