Hey everyone! If you're unfamiliar with MXroute, we're an email hosting provider (bring your own domain) that does nothing the "normal" way. We believe "normal" is excellent on UX but trash on everything else. We also think we're trash on UX and great on everything else. But hey, we're also inexpensive!
Here's what makes us unique:
Proactive prevention of compromised accounts. If your email account is compromised (because, let's face it, you're going to use the same password you used on some shady pornhub clone), we almost always identify it before anything bad happens. We work with you to resolve it.
Killer outbound delivery. I won't sell myself short here; this part is my pride and joy. I ensure your email gets to where it's going if it's at all possible. However, I have to prevent you from sending things that put that at risk. We're not Google; we're not "too big to block." But I'll be damned if anyone is blocking us, and I'll do everything possible to help your chances at inbox delivery.
DirectAdmin control panel. Because we thought we'd make things a little confusing for you and give you a control panel that was made for web hosting, that we've tried to cut down to just what's needed for email. But hey, when it works you don't need to be in the control panel anyway, right?
Our own IP space. We own the IPs used for sending mail from our platform. They're all ours. They're not rented or provided by OVH/Hetzner/Psychz/whoever. It matters, oh does it matter.
A human touch even at scale. Despite our size, the whole fleet is audited daily for abusive activity, things that need improvement, and issues that customers may need help with. The methods used for these audits scale very well. Most providers would have given up that kind of thing long before gaining a customer base that matches the size of ours.
We work proactively to reduce your sending failure rates, which can impact your chances at inbox delivery, by preventing your website from sending out emails to addresses known to fail. You shouldn't have to risk inbox delivery quality simply because some asshole signed up for your forum with a fake email.

Here are some of your questions answered in advance:
Q: Can I move to one of these promos?
A: You can purchase a promo and move your data to it on your own, but we do not allow transfers to a promo. This is how we keep it sustainable but remain friendly.
Q: What is "Hostname" on the order form?
A: This is the initial domain used to provision your account in DirectAdmin. It's fine if it's a fake; just make it a really stupid fake like thisisntarealdomain.pw.
Q: How do sending limits work?
A: Each email account can send 300 outbound emails per hour. While you can create different email accounts for different purposes/functions, you cannot simply create additional addresses to circumvent the 300 per-hour filter (ex. sender1, sender2, etc).
Q: What if you die tomorrow?
A: Jesus. What is with people trying to get me to visualize my death? I'm not saying that my succession plan is so perfectly laid out that I'll never have to revisit it, but if I die tomorrow, I've ensured that MXroute will be taken care of.
Q: Can you make another promo that fits my needs?
A: Maybe another time. Never again with $5/year, the fees hit too hard.
Q: Can I send transactional email?
A: Honestly, that's most of what our customers do. Go for it.
Q: Can I send marketing email?
A: No.

Yo man @jar wtf I went into mxlogin (is this crossbox) after purchasing new plan same domain both places and when I was logged into old account how do I transfer stuff man 😆
I don't use Crossbox much myself as I just like simpler things, but I know imapsync takes like a host1 and host2 value, surely their form will match that. Same user at host1 and host2, etc.

Ok , did the imapsync that was fast with only 143 emails , when will I be able to login into crossbox for new plan ? After old plan is cancelled and deleted?
So Crossbox has to dynamically choose which back-end server to login to. If a domain exists on more than one of our servers, it'll go off of the MX records for the domain and try to determine the right one that way.
