Nothing weird with OVH, expect the unexpected and enjoy your trip. They are my most loved provider just because of that, life is boring with others, they give you what you expect, at the expected price, for the expected time and rules are applied consistently throughout. Who would want such a life where everything is predictable and has an explanation? Where is the magic, where is the wonder, where is the discovery?

    OVH rocks.

It seems KS-LE-1 with better SSDs than the average. All of the checked IOPS higher near than 2x than the usual for this instance. Check the disks status with the smartctl if you encourage any problem with them in real usage because sometimes they are very old and sometimes used ones.

  • @adns said: All of the checked IOPS higher near than 2x than the usual for this instance.

probably running raid-0 so nothing surprising here. can't see what should be bad about it. I guess he just does not know anything about what the number all mean.

Aha, so RAID 0 makes sense, i was confused by disk size.

    Looks average.

  • How can I ask for a refund from OVH? is that even possible ?

  • MaouniqueMaounique Host Rep, Veteran

You can ask, but I doubt you would get it.
If you have some problem, you can ask them to look into it, they are known for swapping stuff around without asking many questions.

Normal if power management is enabled, put the CPU under some load and it will run at the rated speed. If not check for overheating

It is caused by the CPU clock changing. It not goes on high clock if not run anything. It seems that your server produces the advertised specs.

  • Sorry if my question sounds stupid. I'd like to ask what is my renewal fee ?

Will I be paying VAT ? I didn't pay VAT when signing up for the service, I only paid 35.99 for the first month using the coupon with 0 VAT.

From my understanding from the first pic I will be paying VAT right ?
But in the commitment area it doesn't show VAT.

I opened a support ticket 5 days ago and no reply yet :/

I am not from Eu so I basically never pay VAT for any provider (except netcup, because reasons)

I'd also like to note that if I try to order a new server I get VAT applied which is more confusing to me.

So should I expect next payment to include obligatory VAT ?

Sorry if this is a wall of text, but this is genuinely confusing to me.

You have to get VAT exempted. To do this you need to open a ticket and wait for their response. They will ask some documents to confirm & if you're lucky you will get VAT exempted in 3-5 days. I got my VAT exempted within a day.

I don't remember how it worked with the old KS account, IIRC was automatically exempted (EU resident but VAT registered company in another EU country), now wasn't. At this time my company has 2 accounts with them, one collecting VAT, the other exempt.

@OVH_APAC and/or @ninzo59 might can help to you:)

    Hello @mijora ,
Our support team has not forgotten you and I understand they sent you few communications already. Your order should be honored and you might be one of the lucky last to get a KS-LE-1 has it got sold out very quickly during Black Friday indeed.
Feel free to send me a private message if any drama.

This happend to me too. I ordered a second SYS-LE-1 and few minutes later, it was marked as "Sold out" on their site. It got provisioned two weeks later with better spec than advertised. Not saying that's what would happen to you but I doubt they forgot about you. :)

They could still be verifying your account (if its a new one).
