Yes. I just received one of my servers, and got an e-mail.

    E-mail also said:

"Your billing date will also start from 1st January 2022 instead of today. Please do note that you can still fully use your server right away and there will be no reinstalls required to enable the above features."

    Thanks @hosthatch

  • Good to see HostHatch is enabling nested virtualization on the new nodes.
Will be helpful to run LXD VM's.

  • Are this vps vmware based, since it updated the vmware tools?
What are the pro and cons of vmware versus kvm alternatives?

  • Cannot wait for mine to be available!

What do you mean by pre order? I ordered 3 vps on stockholm, which one was provided. So it takes time

LXC/LXD doesn't need nested virt, since it's containerisation rather than virtualisation.

I'm talking about LXD VM's not containers. LXD 4.0 and up supports VM's. Uses qemu under the hood.

Oh wow, I didn't know about that. Thanks for the link! What's the advantage over KVM though?

    Transfer?

  • @Daniel15 said: What's the advantage over KVM though?

Easier to manage. There's no need to fiddle with the KVM command line so set up networking, limit cpu & memory etc. Basically nearly all the features of containers are available for VM's with the same cli as for containers.

Multiple LXD VM images are already available and can be setup without a hitch.

At-least they should let us know exactly how long "around 15" is?

he probably put in some credits for the future but then an automatic invoice for something else popped up. which happens 2 weeks before renewal. and with that it automatically spends your credits on a service which you might not wanted to renew.

however, just a wild guess on why 'they' spent something ;-) on top, after 6 year one would expect people know how this works ;-)

TL;DR; learn to cancel services upfront if you don't plan or even are unsure about renewing. then there will be no invoice unless you proactively cancel the cancellation.
