Not the SSD32G. It's free and forever.

Where was this offered? On the black friday flash sale page? Never showed up anywhere on FAT32's notification app: https://virmach.fat32.top/

Okay, I believe we're at the correct slowness to error ratio. > @cmpe said:

    I got the 8.88 deal.

Just kept hitting refresh when I saw the CF error.

    /shrug

This does end up working since the webserver isn't actually crashing in any way that would negative affect it and it's not actually being overloaded... if that makes sense. But I definitely don't want to encourage that strategy because if we're hitting a 502 and it actually is the server about to explode, people refreshing is the last thing I'd want.

I guess rule of thumb is when it error 502's super quickly and your refresh brings it back real quick, then it's fine.

Okay, anyway, I've tweaked the settings, I believe we're at the correct slowness to error ratio. Let me know what you guys think. Would you like more gradual slowness or more instant errors?

    Maybe.

  • Got the 8.88 deal, added to cart, and checked out. Now if only it will let me pay...

    VirMach pls take my money.

Last year I got the free SSD32G for 3 months. There was another one for free for a year, never claimed.

EDIT: It was in 2018. Wow time flies.

@VirMach it said in my service list that my order for the $8.88/year promo server was rejected? :open_mouth:

ETA: When ordering, I got a popup saying that "Your order has been held for manual review and/or has been marked as fraud. Please see ticket # for more information regarding your order." Does that mean I'm SOL? (I think it was blocked because I'm currently not stateside)

The SSD64G was pretty nice with 1TB of SSD storage.

My order was cancelled even though I chose Alipay. This may be due to the 502 error that caused me to repeat order many times. Can you help me?

  • I haven't dealt with CF from the web server side of things... What kind of settings do they let you play with?...

What puzzled me (while trying to make payment with an already stored CC) was the
    https://billing.virmach.com/index.php?rp=/payment/stripe/token/get
request took a whopping 31.85 seconds, and completed w/ an HTTP 200, but the
    https://billing.virmach.com/index.php?rp=/stripe/payment/intent
request was erroring out with a 502 pretty much right away (definitly in less than 2 seconds in most of my retries)...

Ouch! those retries have hurt me it seems! Got a notification from my bank for multiple charges of same amount!... @VirMach, should I try to cancel with my Bank, or would you guys be able to do a refund of one of the charges?

  • I give up, good luck guys...

  • Still getting 502, across The Pond

Looks like this is very good deal

    And got stopped by CF

  • CF is showing 502 error

  • At this rate we gonna beg VirMach to take our money in like 10 minutes :D

  • @VirMach If I'm getting "The country of your IP address did not match the billing address country you entered so we cannot accept your order." because I'm not currently stateside, does that mean I won't be able to order anything during this sale without sending in a copy of my passport, even though I'm able to renew my multiple existing servers?

Don't let a pesky 502 stop you from VirMach's goodies. Keep refreshing

Alright guys this isn't fun anymore, there's disk wait on 2x NVMe's and you're overloading 32 cores (on a sold out package that can't be purchased anymore.*)

@saibal said: @VirMach how many of the 8.88 were in stock and how many are left?

Originally 90 quantity, and 90/90 sold.

Then it got stuck on it again, and I didn't want to confuse people and just immediately end it so I added some quantity, and it oversold, it's currently at around 182 sold, out of 100 or 110. I'm afraid to refresh it again.

@ucenter said: My order was cancelled even though I chose Alipay. This may be due to the 502 error that caused me to repeat order many times. Can you help me?

Cancelled, and paid? Cancelled, and an invoice that is also cancelled? Cancelled and no invoice, or cancelled invoice and blank service?

@TheWizard said: Ouch! those retries have hurt me it seems! Got a notification from my bank for multiple charges of same amount!... @VirMach, should I try to cancel with my Bank, or would you guys be able to do a refund of one of the charges?

Never refresh the payment page. If our system catches it, you'll get store credit. If it doesn't then be very specific in explaining it and probably wait until you know which ones are charged and which are just temporary authorizations.

This is why we recommend just making a deposit, a lot easier for us to manipulate store credits.

@CyberneticTitan said: Imagine a normal customer trying to access their panel or pay an invoice at this time.

We've wanted to move this to a separate brand, we probably will in the future. Didn't have a chance this year.

  • Ouch. On the other hand this could be an awesome study on scalability and load balancing.
