Hey! I just deployed an instance in Chile, but I can't ssh to it. It simply times out, but I can ping the IPv4 of the container (can't ping the IPv6 though).

The field says "ssh-rsa or ssh-ed25519"

Hey! I just deployed an instance in Chile, but I can't ssh to it. It simply times out, but I can ping the IPv4 of the container (can't ping the IPv6 though).

Does it hang at "Booting Machine" for like 2 minutes, during deployment?
If so, its likely the lxd-agent which won't report back data the system needs to determine that the machine is fully booted up.

Plus, we use the official images from lxd, means it ships without SSH by default, which only can be installed if the lxd-agent cooperates.
Which explains why you can't connect, since no SSH server has been installed.

IPv6 is randomly assigned, by the dhcpd server, which isn't reflected in the Panel yet.
    Gateway should be pingable though.

The images are fresh from today, so they should contain the latest lxd-agent, plus we use the latest LTS version of LXD, so the problem should not exists, according the dev's but I don't believe in santa either.

My assumption is, that something in the image, or better the lxd-agent tries to update itself, which fails, so it goes to shit itself. I talked to the dev's about this, but they didn't tell me anything really interesting besides "it sounds like a you problem".

However, I had a similar problem before, regarding remote Locations like Chile, South Africa, which has dial up speeds to their CDN in Murica or Europe, premium 20-200KB/sec download speeds, which results in image download times of 1 hour if you are unlucky, for like a 200MB file.

That's why we cache the images locally and update them every day, in the background.
On top of that, that issue only seems to exist in remote locations, so yea.

When I find time, I will look into this, even if I find the issue, I don't really have big hopes, that the dev's are fixing it.

Last time I suggested to make a hard coded value, changeable.
I was told "I would have to setup tests for it, more work, overhead, no fucking way".

@Ouji I suggest you deploy one in NL for now.
I will see if I can troubleshoot it this week.

Okay, so it wasn't a network issue.
Apparently VM's below 512MB don't boot anymore, due to a kernel issue.

I switched Chile back to Container, works fine now.
All other 256MB KVM Packages have been disabled for now.

WebHorizon dropped a fat SG Machine, which gives me the opportunity to use a different storage backend.
Hence I likely open the registration again, since the other stuff is delayed, so this can be tested meanwhile.
