They used to have a page where they described it.

    This one, maybe? https://www.ovh.ie/dedicated_servers/bandwidth-upgrade-details.xml

  • Enterprise SP-64 in GRA still at 250Mbps according to panel and iperf.

Does this mean these old services are not included in this upgrade?

Same. Not sure they would upgrade at all. Many months now.

It should be upgraded as well. Will see with concerned teams.

Allnetstore/mrclown could you give me your NIC by PM/here to check this out ?

    @mrclown @allnetstore

It was a display problem in the manager. It should have been fixed, but in fact you already had 500 mbps (+burst 1gbps) instead of 250 Mbps.

If that's not the case, PM me with screenshots please.

edit: We found some specific issues on some code about SP-64 Bandwidth, we are on it. It shouldn't concern all SP-64 though.

I could see Outgoing Bandwidth as 500 Mbps now on my servers. Incoming and OVH to OVH is still 250 Mbps.

    Same here.

On a SP-64 that apparently has burst disabled:

    # iperf -c iperf.ovh.net
    ------------------------------------------------------------
Client connecting to iperf.ovh.net, TCP port 5001
TCP window size: 85.0 KByte (default)
    ------------------------------------------------------------

    [ ID] Interval Transfer Bandwidth
    [ 3] 0.0-10.0 sec 307 MBytes 257 Mbits/sec

OVH NIC by PM please :)

  • So originally it was announced that SYS would be getting the speed increase. Is that now not the case? If so that's super disappointing.

It was stated in February that, due to a technical issue, they won't be able to deliver on the bandwidth upgrade anytime soon.

that's how you do upgrades that your drunk boss promised in a weak moment through public channels...

    wait

    wait

    wait

after enough complaints and requests just change the numbers in the control panel...

    wait

    wait

    wait

make sure to have them wait on their ticket replies and ask them for their ticket IDs and NIC handle quadruple times...

    wait

eventually upgrade the few that really keep on complaining and asking and even back it up with numbers from benchmarks.

    wait

    but maybe not.

OVH joined Hetzner to select customers from online.net after the price increase.

I wonder if there will be more on these lines:
    Kimsufi - 200 mbps
    SoYouStart - 500 mbps.

A reply to this tweet from Oles was "Yes SYS. Not for Kimsufi."

Dropped my SYS after figuring out that it wasnt actually coming for SYS.

There is a demand for E3-1245v2 32GB RAM 2x480GB SSD for 30 euros in the CIS.

Like on i7-4790k too, there are many game servers, and there is no better one on our market in the CIS.

  • My SP64 seems got upgraded already. Great!

    [root@cen ~]# iperf -c iperf.ovh.net

Not sure it even hit for OVH for myself either to be honest...

There are some issue on rare cases. Thats what I m trying to help/fix. Seemed some SP-64 were impacted, we solve an specifc issue and there could be more.

People dont often comment when its alright.

Just remember upgrading +200k servers je huge.

    Thanked by 1nonissue
  • @ninzo59 Some of the users may be referring to the SP-64-D. This server came hard capped to 250mbps outgoing like a SYS server. Even though panel now shows 500mbps, iperf is still hard capped to 250mbps outgoing.

iperf to iperf.ovh.net shows incoming cap, right?

Just to be clear, my comment wasn't directed at you in any way shape or form. I'm actually super impressed that you participate so actively on here and try and fix things for people. I hope you didn't take offence.

  • My panel has updated, but speed still cap at 250 Mbps

    Same as you.

@ninzo59 - Can you please check not just for 1 or two of us, but for the rest too? I think the issue is widely happening not one or two servers. Most people might not have tested at all just by trusting the control panel values.

@ninzo59 Just noticed OVH STOR-72T servers got reverted to 500Mbit guaranteed bandwidth from 1Gbit again. Any reason why? Mistake or intentional?

Can other server models have the double bandwidth reverted as well?
