    UK NVME providers, sorry, dumped..

Can you retain snapshots while deleting a VPS and reload the VPS later from the snapshot? Hence only paying for hourly VPS usage and Snapshot storage?

That's one of the ideas behind the snapshots feature, yes.

It's really a killer deal if compared with other reputable providers in the "billed-by-the-hour" segment, I'm looking at the API right now. The availability of floating IPs, snapshots, the huge bw limit/speed and the like is the cream on top. Really looking forward to move something there soon

Is it correct that incoming bandwidth is not counted in the 20 TB limit, only outgoing is?

    Yes, that is correct: https://wiki.hetzner.de/index.php/CloudServer/en#How_do_you_bill_for_traffic.3F

    Yes. Snapshots are fully independent.

  • The price is different on the site €2.96 instead of €2.49?
Is this just an offer and if so for how long?

Is there a cloud TOS AUP coming soon?

    Our normal TOS still apply.

@clouvider UK has a better network than Hetzner. Pings are lower, especially, in the Middle East. I've done a lot of tests. Anyway, I'm moving to Hetzner. They are cheaper and provide nvme dedicated servers.

for my needs the negligible difference in network is fine. The increase in resource outweighs it by a mile.

The higher prices includes VAT. Customers from different countries are required to pay different amounts of VAT. If you have questions about VAT, please see: https://wiki.hetzner.de/index.php/Payment_FAQ/en#How_much_VAT_do_I_need_to_pay.3F

@Gulf - It may be that we do not have a peering agreement with your provider's network. We have an open peering policy. Could you please ask your provider for more information? If you have more detailed technical questions like this in the future, please write a support request via Cloud Console. Thank you for your understanding. --Katie, Marketing

Been waiting since beta for them to come live!

    so happy :D

and yes you can install windows on them! (not to hard)

Shame they don't have Nested virtualization though.

PS i love how fast they start (scaleway are so slow)

it looks like a routing bug from core-backbone. routes over telia or amsix are faster and have less hops.

  • I tried installing Plex and Plexdrive on a slot and as soon as I initialized the library scan, the CPU usage shot up to 100% and then down to 0 with nothing happening in Plex but everything else working just fine. Hmm.

Yes, you can set rDNS for the assigned IPs.

I just logged in to LET to THIS. Netcup is surely going to have to step their game up now! Way to go, Hetzner!

Edit - Just spun up a 4G instance with ceph storage. The VM is snappy as hell with a decent network too.

  • Very interesting price especially since it has NVME disk. One question about the traffics, in case I rented multiple VPS, will the traffics be calculated separately, so each will have 20TB?

  • What is account verification? Is it needed?

  • netcup can do nothing against hetzner's offer

-every hetzner dc is DIN ISO/IEC 27001 certified. netcup not

-hetzner has a 2,65 TBit network. netcup has only 131 GBit, so they can't offer so much traffic

-hetzner can tank much more DDoS then netcup and has a way better ddos protection

-hetzner has nvme or ceph space, netcup has only ssd or sas space
