I had not been following the news for one week and because of that ordered my mythical KS2G on Aug, 1st, my order number is 21649XXX. Does it mean that in the meantime they sold ~200k servers? Hell, it is not possible.

Orders might be numbered through entire OVH, not just for Kimsufi.

Also, numeric identifiers can be used not for orders only. So I wouldn't rely on difference between orders numbers to assume anything for sure.

I'm wondering if they would notice a small TOR relay on it. (5mbit/s or so)

And I'm wondering, why do you care? Go http://torstatus.blutmagie.de/ do a search for "kimsufi.com", then note what kind of traffic they do, some of those more than 30 Mbit/sec each. And that's just where owners did not bother to change rDNS from ".kimsufi.com" (i.e. that way you will not spot any of mine).

    Because the ToS changed ;)

The new (latest updated) ToS does not forbid Tor.

    http://forum.ovh.co.uk/showpost.php?p=46988&postcount=4

"7.4 For security reasons, OVH reserves the right to proceed with the immediate suspension without notice of any server that would be offered free of charge or for a fee, a public Proxy, IRC, VPN, TOR, for which OVH has knowledge of malicious, fraudulent or illicit use."

This can't occur if you just run a relay node, not Exit.

  • is there anyone ordered ks4g and not from eu?

and what they give in ks4g? atoms or core2duo,i3, xeon cpus?

  • Orders not from the EU will be canceled.
The specs are on the website http://www.kimsufi.com
    "Atom"

  • they are already short on atoms... fingers crossed ...

I just read the german TOS/AUP and they say it's possible to run TOR, but first you have to speak with OVH (but they can deny it without giving a reason). And Exit Nodes are always forbidden.

I wrote an Email, so lets see what happens.

This is pre-update version, the French AUP was the same before the latest update that I quoted. So expect the German one to change as well.

  • Mhm. When i ordered I downloaded my AUP and now it this one who affects me. Until I renew I think.

  • almost forgot to mention this, I got a /128, just 1 IPV6, not a /64

Kimsufi lineup is only available to EU customers.

Just got my second server! Now all that remains is to move my stuff of the old mKS to the one of the new ones and that's £6 a month saved!

  • They have just added a new KS 24G to their KS Plans ,but it is still for Eu only. Damn you OVH !!!

They have done all the orders from the 25th and do now process the 26th. Thats what the support told me this evening. You seem to have ordered both very quick so congratulations! I ordered on the 27th so I'll have to wait another 20 days or something like that.

  • Just received my 16G. Got the E3-1225 v2. Re-ordered on the 5th
Still waiting for my 2G as the rest.

  • @Maller save me trawling ~3k posts please and let us know when you ordered/paid the 16G?

  • wroxwrox Member

@FFFlip I recieved my KS-16G the 14th and had ordered the 26th, paid the same day. Got a E3-1225v2.

  • cheers @wrox.
@Maller did you mean you ordered teh 16G on the 5th?

Yes, sorry if that wasn't clear.

  • What do you mean 5th? 2013-08-05 ? Kimsufy 16g and already got it? Did it come with RAID?

Strange. I have ordered 16G on 2013-08-02 and it's not delivered yet.

Every new server with OVH has at least 1-2 week delivery time.

That must hurt their business a lot...

  • xsetxset Member

@ztec I dont think so, people can wait, only 1-5% cancel the orders.

  • ztecztec Member

Still, they won't order an extra server while they're still waiting.

  • xsetxset Member

ETA KS-2G is max for late September. for all other servers behind it within 2 weeks max.

  • xsetxset Member

@ztec Some do, like I did... can't wait to get my hands on FS-24T :)
