  • the x3440 one is very tempting,but i realized i already broke

  • The only one I can see (now) has the same cpu/chassis but doesn't have the extra 4 drives 'bonus' - is this an error, @dacentec or did I miss the chance for one with extra drives?

You are looking for one that has "Special" in the description. Must be sold out - it was there about an hour ago.

  • If I'm not mistaken, "Very Special" was 1385 rather than 1354 you're talking about, and its description had explicitly mentioned extra 4TB. And yes, it's gone several hours ago.

Wow you're lucky, i've got another server with 2x2tb + 4x1tb and every drive got over 50.000 power on hours.

  • Same here, most of my drives at 38k+ power on hours.

is what I've got so far, so you don't always get that good CPU.

I think Dacentec was upgrading the 3TB Bonus servers to 4TB, replacing the four 750GB drives with 1TB drives due to failure issues with the 750GBs. Open a ticket to ask about the upgrade.

This is correct. If you have the 750s, they'll upgrade them to 1TB for you, but they'll likely have many hours on them. I had 2 750s replaced that had less than 100 hours on them. I'd certainly keep the less space for a fresher drive.

Thanks for the heads up, didn't know that. However I decided to buy a new server to replace the old one, so I can take my time to move things around and reconfigure the server. Will cancel that one after I got all my data moved.

They're probably waiting for some poor sod to drop their 8TB-of-failing-disks-special-server to sell it to the next dumbass, again and again. :P

BIOS update; set window to 64MB or 256MB. Linux 4.x works. Life is hard.

  • got one. installed proxmox then 2 vms. ubuntu running quickbox/plex & windows svr 2016. so far it works.

  • got one. delivered minutes ago. what a mix of old (2 to 6-yr-old) disks from all brands...

LOL That was probably the idle one that I forgot to pay for before leaving town. Also the reason my Gnodes rate went down.

Idle? These bitches are garbage if you go to a KPTI kernel. Have the need to setup a backup for someone who has a few dollars to spend, even if it's software RAID.

Yeah. A load of nearly 3 just syncing RAID(s). These will be dropped like hotcakes soon enough.
