Looks like they have another special

Where'd you find this? I can't find it anywhere on their site. Also, I'd like clarification if the IPMI actually works, because the iDRAC cheapies are still twisting in the wind.

Was originally posted on WHT here. I haven't had any issues with either of my E3's IPMI.

I forget that WHT is still a thing. LOL at Scott being a corporate member.

A couple of my cheap yetis (different package than yours) are Dell with ancient iDRAC 6. Ports aren't being forwarded properly so mounting images and sometimes keyboard doesn't work. Scott actually installed Debian on them for me after about two months of being unable to use them. Now, I just don't know how to use them because I can't trust that I can get a console.

Same here. I used to check that damn site nearly every day, now I'll go weeks then randomly remember that it exists.

One of the cheapies I snagged has fucking iDRAC 4... iDRAC 4!!! Took awhile, but I finally strong armed that bitch into submission. I too am dreading the day I need to touch it again.

32GB requires using 8GB DIMMs, which are expensive as hell right now for E3 systems.

    1. the offer states that you get 20TB of data transfer, which is about 60mbit/s on average.

    2. the offer is expletive 19/month. What the expletive do you expect?

I'd just go get two of them if I needed it...

You mean he'll have to go dig them out of a dusty shitbox and chance the hantavirus both recovering, and testing them. It's hazard pay.

    E3 32GB SSD Special

That's a saving over the last special, which was one at $33/mo. Did they ever get iDRAC fixed?

  • WSS said: which was one at $33/mo.

This was billed quarterly, I think this one is even better because it's on a monthly basis.

    I honestly don't know...

It would be, but you're going to be paying $116 just waiting for it.

  • If you do the math, that's 64GB RAM, 480GB SSD and 40TB Sandwich and a lot of processing power for $58/mo

    Not bad.

WSS said: you're going to be paying $116 just waiting for it.

They don't adjust the invoice date accordingly ?

Yeah, they do. It's just by the time you get it, you've already set your stuff up elsewhere. I've got a couple of the X5660 (24GB/2x146S/50TB) boxes. I'd check to see if I could transfer them to recover a few bucks, but by then there'd be possibly 6 months left.

  • Still waiting on setup from the recent semi-annual deal. Client panel says it's active, but the server IP is unconnectable, the IPMI won't let me login, and I haven't received an e-mail from them since my order confirmation on the 19th.

  • @theloafingone Might take a few days. For the last quarterly deal (when this thread started) mine was delivered after 9 days. But its been running rock solid since then :D
