    On $10/mth? When/where?

Not sure if you're really asking or just making a point about mentioning something that's not available but i really liked that comment.

Well I looked into that brand and found out that brand is an independent ISP in London. And I am not able to confirm that price: but sure I would be interested in putting maybe 1U somewhere at that price.

Or I did misread the original meaning: he probably means ~20 euro/mth on a E3-1231. Still a good deal.

@Luke007 said: How long does Kimsufi take to suspend a server? I let one of my servers expire. The renewal date was 17th Feb but I can still SSH into it.

And recently there was a problem with disabling servers to 02/20/2016. All dates are confused: https://twitter.com/Vova_Kuchkovski/status/829610427134910464 in single server working the whole month. Dozens of servers do not suspension somewhere half a month february.

    I wrote in pagalba OVH:
Now servers have normally turned off, but with a delay of two days following the date of delay.

I pay any servers at any date without a monthly bill. That's what OVH and cool. It is very convenient for those who sell in advance to make failures.

Dear Customer, Please note that our technical teams will intervene on your server [redacted] 15 minutes in order to carry out the following intervention. Electric connector

uhh, what even, they just rebooted my server after "fixing connector" even though it was running fine FFS.

The same thing happened to me a few times when I tried to boot into rescue mode, on a server in RBX4.

It was on an extension cord running across the corridor, and everyone was constantly tripping over the damn thing. Also the cleaning lady complained it's hard to mop the floor with all the wires and shit. So they had to replug you in onto the proper closest wall socket. Guess now it's better for the long run so you should be happy.

  • I get i5-2400 on RBX4!
    It's a shame that they do not i5-3570s :D

    Debian Installation in progress.

You got it deployed now? Didn't know they had staff working so late.
    Mine is still in progress

  • 30 minutes ago I got an e-mail that the server is active.

Not that much difference, is there?

    Check your network for download speeds, e.g. from http://speedtest.tele2.net/10GB.zip 2-3 MB/sec or 11 MB/sec.

1.8-2 here ... OVH will never fix this i guess.

  • Finally got provisioned. Got the i-5 with 16 GB ram. Brand new disk with 6 hours on it. Score!

  • Still waiting on mine :(

  • Here we go again, just got a notification that my server is down again. I went to tickets and http://i.imgur.com/J2jF1ED.png looks like they're replacing something again... http://i.imgur.com/7AGszKq.png

    Anyone else experiencing this...?

Their reboot setup is literally two wires connected to the system. It may have been chewed through by the last noc monkey who got lost and now subsists on fan dust.

Guess what, my server is now offline, even after 2 attempts of "fixing the connector".

I guess RBX4 is just a fucking joke.

EDIT: It has nothing to do with restarts. My server just randomly decides not to ping.. Tried to rescue but can't even restart so yeah..

I had one of those. I finally called OVH's number and said nobody was reading my ticket. Guy took over my ticket and ended up taking care of things for me in about a week. Of course, I didn't get any credit for the downtime, but it was #7/mo, so I didn't bitch too much.

Okay they performed that again, managed to boot my server and after 5mins it went offline no idea what to do ...

Respond to the ticket under /fr/management and let them know if it isn't working by tomorrow, you want it replaced. Then, be patient.

  • Sigh. order expired by the time my Credit card payment accepted.

That setup fee tripped me up. All for want of 1.5 euros balance at end of month.

When was order originally placed? Maybe I'll order a 1 month of a Kimsufi VPS for 3 euro or something like that, just to have an open account in case the promo opens up again. I can always use another OVH VPS :).

  • @willie said:

Kimsufi order had a validity of 24 hrs . (ordered feb 24th, expired 25th)

I just placed it in the hope that I could pay it when my card had enough balance.

Agree on ordering an ovh VPS , just to have a validated account on ovh.

  • If you want a kimsufi in the future, you need a kimsufi account, not OVH. These are separate systems. (SYS is a third one).

Right, what ccarita says. I have an OVH account (and an OVH VPS) but I don't currently have a Kimsufi account. So I could order a VPS from Kimsufi which is presumably the exact same VPS that OVH sells under its own brand. I have one in BHS but might as well also have one in France ;).

"To use this service you must have a customer account on OVH.com"

You can't order it from Kimsufi, it will redirect you to OVH.
