Rubbish why? I dont think that everyone got the server like this. Maybe they run out of stock before the counter on the website and replaced the machines with the nearest possible available ones.
Is this the same server?
My suspicions have come true ...
Hello, Currently there is no more stock available. Your server will be delivered as soon as there will be more stock available. Is the answer from Online.net to my ticket.
Should I wait or cancel and ask for a refund? What do you think?
In comparison. 10 EUR for a slightly better CPU isn't worth it to me.
You're probably right about why, though.
Rerun with server in Frankfurt
Woah ....
(I got what was advertised)
What do you lot think about,
2 x Intel Xeon E5 2620
or
2 x Intel Xeon E5 2670
For Plex? I have a OVH E5 1620v2 and it's slightly lacking in the CPU department for my needs.
I also have one (out of my 5 LT DEALS 1701.1) with:
model name: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1231 v3 @ 3.40GHz
How many 1080p concurrent streams are you transcoding? You should be able to comfortably do 4-5 with the 1620v2. 10 streams with a dual 2620, maybe 15 with a dual 2670.
I got the exact same :O so happy right now, also did a speed test here for you guys
proof of spec :O
Download: 52,8 MB/s

Upload: 108 MB/s
Ping 0 ms
Testserver: Paris

I am running Plex as a VM with all cores given to it, but I have other VM's which are quiet as hell but still use some amount of CPU which makes the processor struggle at times. Specially as I use Snort / pfSense / Plex all at the same time.
Stream's I can do concurrently at the moment is about 4 at max, all 1080p high bitrate. Plus the OVH shitty 250mb/s upload is killing me.
Typically, you're looking at 2K of passmark per 1080p stream, so you can work out what you need relatively easily.
Damn, lucky!
i know right, 20 euros a month for this :O now gonna setup some vms and gre tunnel to the from my own vps and boom good ddos protection on that baby.
searching a LT DEALS 1701.1
LT DEALS 1701.2
These are still on sale.
Damm i think i got stupid lucky with my server
What did you order?
6McNuggets and a small OJ
Server is still installing, but by the looks of it, it appears I also got 2x2TB. Lets see what processor once it boots up.
LT DEALS 1701.1
Was going to buy...but sold out
Here is mine. 1TB
Raw_Read_Error_Rate 234271388
Seek_Error_Rate 678016807
Power_On_Hours 15393
Load_Cycle_Count 3270
Temperature_Celsius 29
Hardware_ECC_Recovered 234271388
Reallocated_Event_Count 65503
This doesn't look healthy. Are they gonna replace it if I send SMART?
Wait! They have been replenishing stock on at least some of the servers.
report it is all you can do i think i got lucky :O
Picked up a LT 1701.2 whats the best tutorial for getting windows onto it?
Currently looking at this one? https://www.whatuptime.com/installing-microsoft-windows-server-2016-datacenter-x64-online-net-personal-range-xc-2016-sc-2016/ but says its for the XC/SC range so wondering if it will work.
Yes you are and I'm glad for you. Trying to understand what is the proper procedure and to not be rude. It seems like my HDD are faster than their SSD in some servers! Go figure if I should report or use it until it fails (feels like soonish). Maybe more experienced Online.net users will chime in.
Well, no pending, reallocated sectors or offline uncorrectable so maybe I can happily live with an old drive.
Don't you prefer to keep all your data with mzungu?
If not, they'll probably have more at the end of the month, when cancellation will become effective!
it works i already done it :P
Brilliant thanks, good to know I am going in the right direction
