They changed their support system from forums only to tickets (except from software related problems) kimsufi.com/en/support/

Finally. Forum as the only means of getting support is ridiculous.

Great! Now I only have to wait one week for a response via ticket instead of three weeks via the forum.

Managed to order a KS-1 server and was asked for validation documents, sent them to [email protected], how long does it take them to validate? It's been 24 hours - is customer service normally slow?

This has been answered ad nauseam in this and other threads. It can take weeks. It took 3 weeks for me to be validated as an example.

  • Validation took me 5 working days.. i keep nagging them in the forum to get validated.. i've seen others get validated as long as 3 months!!

  • Is OVH account which is validated sufficient for purchasing Kimsufi server?

  • I have an soyoustart.com (USA) account and when I needed to create an ovh.ie account, and was stuck in validation process, I contacted support via my soyoustart.com portal. They in turn asked me to fill in a form at soyoustart.ie (ireland entity different from USA entity). I did, and the agent replying back validated my ovh.ie acct. Turnaround was a day or two. Which is the expected slow turnaround from OVH. I dont know if I got lucky or not. But I didnt have to wait for weeks or months.

Yup.. unless like me i have to wait for another 2 days for them to remove VAT from my account as i'm not in EU..

Server provided today, so luckily I only had to wait a couple of days for my validation process to be completed.

Just got a KS-2 to mess about with Windows on. I found it much easier to use a local VMWare Workstation to create the image rather than vultr or anything else.

    1. Create the VM, configure how you want it, allow RDP etc.
    2. Attach the VM Disk of the machine you just created to a Linux VM
    3. Dump the disk (probably /dev/sdb)
    4. Upload the template from the host machine to somewhere it is 'wgetable'
    5. follow the normal process to dd it onto the drive in rescue mode

    Look like everyday!

  • There seems to be a whole cottage industry sniping the KS-1s, KS-2 is also a pretty good deal if you get the 2TB disk. Only 30 hours on the one I got.

  • My KS-1 was delivered with a 500GB disk about 6 weeks ago but the disk only had a few hours on it. In GRA.

You won't get a KS-1 unless you use a notification service like this - http://kimi.nwwebsites.co.uk/ . Even then you'll be competing with over 300 people - on that site alone. My experience suggests KS-1 servers sell out a few minutes after appearing as available. I wrote my own software that polled the server availability a bit more often and since it was being run on the desktop cut out any delay that e-mailing caused. Worked for me ...

Just ordered, I'm dubious as to whether I'll get one in 120 seconds, but worth a punt...

  • Still no server, this is an outrage!
