If anyone is willing, I am happy to turn this into a class action lawsuit.
No warning, doesn't care about anyone, doesn't adhere to the provider's basic code of ethics, and then blames the customer: "You can't ask for a full refund because you've been using it for 6 months." I support you in suing it, he is completely insulting the customer's intelligence, since DVO has broken the rules, why can't users recover losses in the same way. This is simply the most disgusting piece of shit in 2024.
@Dvo can you please say something like "You will have to rip those $6 out of my cold dead hands, maggots! Mwhahahahahahaha!!"
@Dvo financial and/or administrative trouble can happen while running a company.
Shutting down everything without even 24 hour notice is inexcusable and the reason why everyone is jumping at you. On top of that, you disappeared and are refusing to proactively refund affected customers.
What did you expect after that? Kind words from everyone? It seems clear to me that you are unable to show any empathy towards customers who trusted you and your company.
I agree pretty trash person doing this type of thing.
It was bad enough when Dedipath gave less than 24 hours notice but this clearly shutting down and not giving notice and to reply that basically tough shit is insane. This is why people have issues trusting anyone.
Do better people.
Yep, and not everyone is idling, so a bunch of people have lost their data
What a joke this place has become. Jesus Christ.
If there were no paypal, no credit card, and everyone was paying in BTC, would you still come back here with a long speech "full of emotion"? Will you run away on the first day of service or in the sixth month? I think the answer is obvious.
Be honest, man, this is not a kindergarten. If your wife slept with another man, would you forgive her for living for six months or six years?
To be honest, I just moved my website to Limewave a month ago, and even though I'm in Asia, the internet has been good. Although I discovered that limewave was offline a few days ago, I did not apply for a dispute. I just looked forward to the day when it would come back online. I understand the business difficulties you are encountering. If you plan to go online again in the next few days, please be sure to write a big announcement message, limewave needs a decent exit or a fresh start!
Let me summarize Limewave's response, and I'm not sure if I understand correctly:
Is this accurate?
Dec 31st 12:00pm: "Uh oh. Looks like I have to shut down the business come January"
Jan 1 10.00am "May be I should return the yearly payments from the December 2023 deals?"
Jan 1: 10.00.05am "Naaaahhh."
No lawyer is going to take this...not enough money at stake.
We need LowEndLawyers
Not worth their time.
No, please no. Just no!
Low end hosts can be bad enough..
Isn't that AI? /s
thats crazy... after all this to come back with that..
Can only imagine how much better this would have gone if everyone was given a week or two’s notice and a humbling apology that the business hadn’t panned out. At the same time if money was available, some pro rated refunds, or at least a percentage of one, would probably be enough to stop many of the users from looking at making chargebacks for the full amount. A humble and graceful exit probably would have gone down well with many people and I think people would have been empathetic to the situation.
Instead users were left in the dark and when a response was issued this has come across as a very aggressive attack of the users with no real sign of any empathy towards those impacted. The response given, while seemingly borne out of frustration, is not well considered and will only inflame a difficult situation. The complete lack of regard to the users will only encourage those impacted to resort to chargebacks.
All the best for those that had active services. Hope people have made backups they can bring up elsewhere.
I hope this is an example to other providers of how not to close down services. You never know whether you’ll want to re-enter the game later and leaving with bad blood will only hurt later on. I get that sometimes ceasing over night will be inevitable, but an email or post on the forums you derived customers from costs nothing and takes little time.
Talked with a friend who is living in Poland at the moment. He consulted a lawyer to review an employment contract he was considering, and it cost him 20 euro. I laughed and said that'd be 10x if not 25x in the US.
Something like this:
"Hey gang, we've been struggling to get Limewave to a point where it's worth the investment, and after careful consideration, we've realized it's never going to happen. This is a huge disappointment to all of us. It's been an awesome journey and we appreciate all of you who've been along for the ride.
Effectively immediately, we are no longer accepting new customers. 30 days from now, Limewave will cease operations. We urge everyone to immediately backup their data and migrate to new hosting. You'll be able to use service to the last day but after that day, service will be switched off with no return.
If you are waiting for provisioning of services, your order will be canceled and the transaction reversed. If you've prepaid for annual hosting, you will receive a prorated refund, processed on the last day we're in operation.
We're sorry things ended this way. If you have any questions, feel free to open a ticket and we'll get you sorted.
"
So which node is loss?
We are peered with TorIX now
Hire @deank as your lawyer.
He should have been banned.I don't really want to read another one of his thousand words of trash talk.
bruh, I would have expected at least one lie related to a car accident,ICU or the shit.
a couple of us had privately speculated and hoped that it wasn't related to a health emergency or something equally as bad. his response is utter dogshit imo
you're just a cunt with good typing skills.
@Dvo If you had said this a week ago, I think I would have largely accepted your rhetoric, but today, man, you sound like a thief who gets caught and blames the victim for compensation.
Wait so you get 10G ports for 75$ from cogent?
What is KF?
