Did you run a traceroute?
I just asked about peering, didn't mention any complaints. Do you mind disclosing the upstream peering speeds?
Not to accuse you of only having Ookla on 10Gbit, but it seems that way. Even Gcloud, AWS, Azure, other gigabit and 10Gbps servers I can't get anything over 500-800mbps.
Hoping to find a solution as at times I may need to burst over that when accessing bucket storage / other servers in LA.
I'm not saying it is a network issue as well. Just an observation from when I first received the service/tested to today in a 2week window. I wished I saved the output from before but for here are the speeds I am generally getting as of recent ( below is actually improved from yesterday when often times things didn't get past 300mbps for majority of downloads/RX test). Also, it isn't slow everywhere as the output shows that to some providers, the connection appears fast.

Any update, looks like I was provisioned today on this node with the problem
Is that issue in Los Angeles? Mine was provisioned today and it keeps shutting down 15-20 minutes after I boot it. The HostHatch control panel gets very slow too - I assume due to communication issues between the panel and the server. It's been 8 hours since your comment though, so I wasn't sure if it's the same issue or not.
Yes Im in Los Angeles and have the shut down happening also
also in los angeles and node keeps shutting off after downloading a large file or testing.
Much better.

YABS for c h o n k y V P S (8 cores, 48GB RAM, 525GB NVMe):
Nice disk speeds, as is always the case with HostHatch's NVMe VPSes.
There's something weird going on with network speeds though. It's not just an issue with Clouvider as I get <=15Mbps between LA and London and <100 Mbps between HostHatch LA and New York.
I'll open a ticket once I've collected more data.
happy customer for the past 2 years, upgrading from 2021 black friday's deal to 3 years 6 core deal
YABS as usual
The NVMe deals are now back in stock in all locations except Vienna and London.
They will be in stock until the end of 24th December, but most locations will likely go out of stock earlier than that. If you cannot order from the order form and/or see an error, that means it is sold out.
Sydney still has free BGP sessions available. Please read the first/original post for details, special terms, and how to order.
Glad the offer is coming back...
I have an existing plan in the Hong Kong location. Half of our users are from mainland China and the network performance was quite better back when our VPS was acquired from 2022 BF.
We fully understand China connection is not guaranteed but we need a solution to this. Ping test from China with HostHatch's Japan location IP seems to give much better results now.
So we are considering to perhaps get a Japan Plan (or Singapore?) to make a proxy for our China users to reach the HK box. Alternatively, is there any re-route or other procedures can be done to our existing HK plan?
Thank you in advance for any comments or suggestions.
Cheers,
KC
Chinese traffic is always tricky as you know, and there are multiple cable cuts at the moment that affect this traffic in Hong Kong. As you mentioned, Singapore and Japan have better routes to mainland China at the moment, but this can change at any time, and we have fairly limited control over this.
I would recommend signing up with a monthly plan from our website instead. You can cancel it after a month without any long-term commitment, and spin up a VM in a different location that offers you better routes. Which location has the better routes to mainland China changes every now and then.
Nested virtualisation for docker enabled?
The NL storage vm from last years BF deal has been performing flawlessly. Im buying the 3-year 6 core nvme deal now this year.
Keep up the good work!
Invoice #367613
Thank you for your reply.
In this case, would you recommend Tokyo or Singapore in terms of connectivity to China AND its speed to HostHatch's HK location?
Cheers,
KC
Nested virtualization is enabled for our AMD NVMe Compute VMs, yes.
You can use our looking glasses to run your own tests and make an informed decision. (As I mentioned earlier, there are a number of cable cuts in APAC at the moment (some info at https://www.gslstatus.com/) that do not just affect us).
@hosthatch how to avail free bgp in london
Please open a ticket with your ASN and prefixes.
@hosthatch
Thanks for your wonderful offers. We are all happy clients of yours. But I would like to give you my feedback on this.
You restricted three snapshots per account only. I find it better to have one snapshot per VPS, as they are used in production. This summer, there was a crash in New York.
In recent offer, you increased specs and prices. Many may not need more space (50GB) or power (2core). They may want to pay less for less specs. We wish to see less specs for a three years payment, like e.g. PROMO J last year, which was - or should be - a super hit.
Btw, I do understand on price politics, free snapshots, etc. No explaination is necessary. This is just a feedback with no expectation of a "feedanswer".
@MrWonder It's because it's in BETA. They likely won't spend time developing further logic for the BETA product since that would delay the actual roll out.
>
Snapshots are currently only available in BETA. There are a lot of things that we need to add before we move them out of BETA.
So a lot to do, and we're working on it.
Do you mind pointing out which plan exactly? Anything under $25 per year is not sustainable due to IPv4 costs. We've made huge strides in support, added features, and the general quality as well, so if you are paying the same price you were last year, you are actually getting much more value today than you were one year ago.
Feedback is always appreciated.
Already too many servers in my collection for my current usage but great deals
Need to cancel some of them.
But I can vouch for hosthatch, insane uptime, network quality and so on.
They don't even create a new thread, because they know they will sell everything by just posting a discret comment here
I requested BGP session setup for my Sydney VM in early December.
It required an LOA rather than just RPKI; LIR advised me to generate one via https://loa.tools .
As of today, the BGP session has been up for more than a week, but the announced prefix is only visible in one Tier-1 ISP.
Did I mess up some setup or …?

@hosthatch
I did mention the "perfect specs" of your offer in my earlier comment as follows:
But stil, let me elaborate:
I have never seen any provider, who mastered and offered this perfect specs of PROMO J offer of yours. This has a perfect balance and most effective that includes everything. For example, upon payment of three years, the cheapest offer had one core and 30 GB NVMe space with a snapshot included. This spec is such a beautiful combination because 1/3rd would be used by the OS and remaining for other things, which can even give a small space for backups. With higher offers, this ratio remained, and , thus, was also beautiful.
Logically, this would cover need of majority of users because of its extraordinary combination of core, NVMe space against a three years payment. Snapshot included.
That's unbeatable for the price versus specs!
Come-on, what more can users expect for this so low price? Beyond that, it is undisputable that you declared to buy premium bandwiths. Honestly, I did not believe you initially. But when I did the testing, I was really speechless! Yes, your offer was genuine! Awesome!!!
Hence, I wanted you to know how beautiful offers you have made to this lovely community of LET like your PROMO J offer. Obviously, you are the most wanted provider.
Again, the above is a feedback.
One more feedback:
If one orders multiple VPS with you, you should welcome these clients by offering more security, in particular in events like the crash in New York last sommer. Changing physical server happens live and this hot change of moving one VPS does not cost more than a minute to move. When I asked the support to move the second VPS on a different physical server, I was asked to pay money.
The same client could order a second VPS as a backup from a different provider having a low specs and price. But if that client orders a second VPS from you for security reasons, that a shift on a different physical server should be logically offered for free.
Every provider offers a free service of changing a physical node, in the event the client orders a second VPS and makes a request that this is for additional security. This need of a client has an aim to secure data in the event, when there is a physical crash of your hardware. When that happens, the client has a second VPS with you that survives.
Once again, above is not a complaint but a feedback only.
