These apps will run just fine on the ones with higher RAM. Not sure where the hiccup is. If I can get a seedbox that can stream as well as seed then why not?
Out of curiosity why do you think these wont run well long term?
The deals are great value, agreed!
I used these for said tasks and then settled on hetzner sx server
You used these on PM seedbox?
Imo, what enables them to have excess cpu/ram is the bulk of their customers coming from private tracker communities where they care for long-term seeding. Some of them seed anything they download for life. Some of them turn on auto-dl, and prune old files etc.
This kind of use case generally doesn't use a lot of resources. As pulsedmedia gets more attention from LET, the types of customers will get more varied, including some like you who plan to run all these extra apps on their seedbox plans. It's probably not a problem yet, but it may be a problem in the future.
If they let you have 12 GB ram with no clear hard cpu limits, there's going to be some people sharing the seedbox across multiple people and maybe you have several transcoding tasks going on at the same time and stuff like that. I'm guessing if you don't share, it's not really a problem but with 12 GB ram some people are going to share and that becomes a huge problem.
Makes sense. I'm in no way asking for 12 GB ram. And trust me the 12TB at the price is a steal. I am just wanting to run the services advertised as part of the software stack which seems to be unlikely with 1.2GB of ram.
Yes
You will be kicked for cpu abuse well before that,
I can understand running one or two apps, but you should not run all that because there are other people on that node 2, I have brought similar plan from pulsed media 2 times for one month each and every time , people like you start running various background tasks which ruins it for everyone else ,
€0 profit for the provider to make this deals possible is really not enough ?
ah yes lets climb the assumption train. First of all, I don't transcode on any of media streaming apps be it plex or emby. If PM didn't want me to use the services they offer, it wouldn't be highlighted on their page. Get out of here with you unnecessary gatekeeping.
First, highly doubt its 0 because it wouldn't be offered. But you already know that so i dont really understand your post. Have you read my propositions above? I guess not.
Here is an analogy; You are on autobahn alone, 250kph is no problem.
Then there is a traffic jam middle of dark night and fog, you cannot see more than 10meters and there is hundreds of others. Do you expect to be able to run 250kph then too?
Should the road be closed down from everyone else than you when you happen to be there?
Do you have 100s of millions euros budget to build you a private autobahn no one else can use?
Servers 5€ or 5000€ generally can do anything given the right piece of software, but you cannot expect 5€ server to offer the same performance and speed as the 5000€ server.
You asked for mega storage plan, we delivered; So What's the problem?
You are essentially now asking it should be a dedicated server with 13+TB storage PLUS ever growing storage, unlimited everything, and only cost 12.12€/Month. Do you see the dilemna here?
I do see it. I never asked for all those features at the same budget. I have specifically mentioned that its an amazing deal. Feel free to scroll up and see that. I have not once asked to be upgraded to higher RAM for the same price. You mentioned value proposition so I did a comparison with 8TB one and offered a suggestion that for a euro more and a 1TB less if the RAM could be upgraded to 4, not 8, 4. I am not sure why having a conversation is unreasonable? Of course your decision is final in the end. Do I still appreciate the deal? Of course I do. Does it work better for me compared to the 8TB one? I'm not sure - still trying to figure that out. I remotely mounted the seedbox on a VPS and it worked fine. So can I work around it? Sure. Would it be nice to have a seedbox that can do emby as well? Absolutely. I don't use usenet so the other apps are useless for me. Your current setup doesn't really hinder any of these apps at the moment but I know you are working towards overhauling the setup. So the RAM isn't an issue right now but could be an issue later. If I had demanded that the RAM be upgraded, I would have understood the whiteknighting someone of the others are upto.
If I didn't appreciate PulsedMedia, I wouldn't have participated in the thread as much as I did. Offered to give away some of the services I had in return for someone providing well written guides.
Please don't open a thread when you get kicked out after running all those services simultaneously
No wonder why all premium providers have almost stopped advertising here
I don’t know. The extra software and what not should be considered extra for PM. The core services (i.e. whatever is on their basic control panel) will still run well with 1212M RAM, that should be enough. 12T is 12T.
Agreed.
Our built-in-house seedbox software makes things Simply Work. Instant setup, continuous automated updates. wide-variety of installed software, such as ffmpeg, lame encoder, flac tools, megatools, pyLoad, Sonarr, sabnzbd, rclone, lftp, btsync (1.4 and 2.2) and more!https://pulsedmedia.com/seedbox-all-features.php
Also refer to my post above:
I don't use usenet so the other apps are useless for me.Here's a line to keep the negativity away:
[No negativity beyond this line] Let's party!
I still low-key hoping to get FAT32 Special for recurring 12.12€/year, but oh well
FATTY64 deals!!!
Yea 1.2GB of ram is plenty enough to do everything core without any hindrance what so ever, except the lower rTorrent peer counts etc. which can be bypassed with deluge or qbittorrent. Those 2 are RAM hungry tho.
It's 13.32TB btw, not 12TB
11.84TiB
realized we need to update that too lol. When you become Internet Dinosaur a lot of documentation winds up outdated!
Why do I only have 0GiB / 4000GiB? (Product: 12th Anniversary M10G Raffle)
I would also suggest, as others have, that you do some customizing of WHMCS. I would not place and order if I hadn't found you here on LET. It's the ultimate summer host vibe.
Looking forward to some testing
So for the 0€ profit, or there has to be profit comments, let's do some maths!
I am going to use public pricing available. Hetzner for colo + electrical, FDCServers for their IP Transit Cogent resell. Cogent sucks tho for general global transit! Works good for someplaces tho. Also their customer care is abhorrent, they essentially kicked us out 6 years back and if we had not already planned for ASN and adding another provider we would've been kaput. They asked us for protection racket money essentially, put in orders without approval, then asked us to register on RIPE as LIR via them, they would have taken same sum as RIPE, then RIPE fees on top, and they would have kept the IPs to themselves. We refused so we got kicked out.
This was after 2 years of battling with them for traffic shaping us heavily, and they got just caught redhanded, NOC operator accidentally reset the limits so BW usage triple for a few days.
Anyways, that's besides the point, let's march on with the maths!
12.12€ Per month, minimum 3 months.
Now this is why we limited it to 24 only as well, and required 3months minimum.
We did many times, each time WHMCS is updated everything is overwritten and something gets forgotten, or just cannot be arsed to redo for the umpteenth time.
WHMCS update coming soon, so no sense to waste time to customizing until that is done. Got to do them immediately and try to make diff patches, which has been previously useless because of small changes on various templates etc.
0GiB / 4000GiB --> You have used 0GiB of your traffic limit. The OG post was typoed as 16 000GiB traffic
I'll make sure I'm subscribe for most of that then
Ah fine, you convinced me. I’ll just idle the slot
happy 12th anniversary @PulsedMedia . All th best!
but when got stock again?
All these RAM/TB talk…
You don't need Emby to watch movies.
This requires no extra memory at all.
If there is ever a @yoursunny special plan, it should be modest:
It's enough for two Wikipedia archives (120GB) and five movies (15GB), with 150GB spare for data backup.
but can it load up subtitle from emby? especially srt file
Have you ever used vlc, it can even auto download subtitles for your media if you don't have those even,
Also , current player inside the jellyfin app sucks I recommend using vlc instead, you can change default video player in client setting of jellyfin app, it integrates nicely with vlc,
I have but it doesn't work with kdramas
, i still have to manually download the srt in my local and load it up.
Very modest in all regards indeed. Will keep this in mind.
If subtitle is embedded in the media, you can select a text track directly.
If subtitle is a separate file, you have to download the subtitle file to the tablet, and then there's a button to load the file.
Also, subtitle is unnecessary for push-up videos.
You can mute the audio and enjoy the pure strength from the image alone.
When I figure out how to upload to
udp:/announce, I might start producing push-up torrents.
