I`m from outside the USA/Canada account so, credit please!
@aniruddhnishad, please do not quote the entire post as it tags everyone in it.
ok, I
m don
t know about it. next time i will be careful. You can quote it, just remove the '@'s
Which makes more work than just quoting "specific" important part you want to answer... or not quoting at all if not needed.
Central.co / @aqua kindly provided 3 of their "Silver" VPS to me for benchmarking, one in Dallas, one in NYC, and one in France.
As much as I dislike to reward their generosity with a tendentially negative review, I had to come to the conclusion that only one of the 3 VPS was decent. In fact the NYC VPS was so terrible that I managed to complete only 10 runs while in the other two locations I managed to do 80 - 90 runs (in the same time). In fact while a benchmark run usually takes anywhere between 20 and 45 minutes, depending on the system, the NYC runs took about 6 hours (per run)!
Here's the core of the Dallas result:
Both the very high spread and the (too) low numbers (for that processor) suggest a heavily overcrowded node. Funnily the NYC VPS, while having a nightmare disk has better results with the same processor.
The SSD is certainly not a speed demon but quite OK.
Here's the Dallas network:
Now, on to the NYC VPS ...
Here the processor is quite a bit better (or should I say less brutally overcrowded?) but look the SSD! 180 KB/s and not even 50 IOPS on average ... yuck.
Here's the NYC network:
-- part 2, the France VPS --
Finally on to the France VPS (on an OVH dedi, it seems).
Much nicer than the other two nodes. Somewhat crowded too it seems but still quite decent performance. And even over the magic 100 kp/s RSA barrier, really nice for a quite cheap 2 vCores, 2 GB box, me pleased to see such a cheap VM approach (lower end) Epyc performance.
And also the SSD is quite decent with about 2k IOPS.
And the network is quite nice too. All major european targets in 3 digits Mb/s and quite decent results across the Atlantic too, and even to Asia the connectivity is reasonably usable, yay!
TL;DR: I don't know the US market very well, maybe for them the results are OK but IMO the NYC node is a clear no-go, the Dallas node also isn't enticing albeit not particularly crappy.
The France node though is quite nice and with the current promo prices it's quite attractive.
Thanks for the Giveaways!
I am in France and can say it is great.
Didn't expect such a good service especially since my other VM with them is in Dallas.
You are yellow? Me surprised.
Thank you @jsg for the honest review. We will evaluate what needs to be fixed and contact you again when we put something new in place. I feel that for the price customers are paying, these speeds and specs are expected.
next time just use spoiler tag for your endless "yellow precious treasures" to spare people scrolling:

Well @andrews you got your own thread where you can unleash all you want.
For the price I'm paying, it's f*cking fantastic. I'm only wondering if I should have got Silver instead of Bronze. Oh well.
Not saying it's the reason, but that WHMCS tool is shitty AF and returns "not authorized" for a lot of authorized results.
@aqua WHMCS expired ?
Yeah, they’re auto-renew system doesn’t like to work. Should be fixed now.
Upgrades are do-able if you’d like. Open a ticket and we’ll get it sorted.
I got the prize! Thanks for the Giveaways! ❤️
@aqua i guess your inbox must be filled with tons of msg, just wanna let you know that i made a couple dm to you regarding redemption of the prize. Thank you again for the prize ya.
