to all that are waiting for SYS-2-SSD-32 , it will be a worth waiting for if not for the HDD but CPU alone D1541 will be well worth it. for the price and HW specs alone your cant go wrong.

110% - I was lucky enough to grab one in France a week ago when it was available, and have been using it constantly for the past week. Performance is amazing for the price, I'll be holding on to this server for a long time I'm sure.

What do you use it for?

    Premium idling

Ha... that's it. If you're gonna idle, why not be the best at it.

Using it for parsing data from text files into a database, works great for my needs.

  • Looks like im not gettin a SYS2SSD 1541D anytime soon :*

mine is actually sitting duck, because I lack the time for setting it up as needed. 😥 probably even for the next two weeks still..

if only I'd know if they'll have some in GRA soon I'd be willing to give it to you and wait for a new chance.

@ninzo59 do you have any insights on the plans for restocking, especially on individual locations?

Can trade it for a SYS3SSD so youre still having one sitting duck :*

na, thanks I have a discounted E3-SSD-1-32 already, which is about the same.

Membership to the club will be highly limited. Eventually they’re going to get 2TB drives back in stock and the 16TB club will be the stuff of legends.

I’ve got to say, at this point, I reckon you’re fucked. Should have paid that invoice straight away.

I have learned that it's a gamble for the extra perks.

Nonetheless the upgraded cpu and ipmi and network is great for the price point.

I know one has fomo but I think when you make peace with yourself you can do better! I am learning this every day and focusing my energies on trying to be better in not idling more services and actually utilizing what i have with whichever resources I got!

Sorry for the philosophical response but as someone said - It is what it is!

Buy a SYS server that has 8 TB total storage and get lucky enough to be given 16 TB instead by the SYS Lottery

  • The Thing is all the Servers in the 16 TB Club seems to be SYS2-Sat32
    Not the sys 1 !

Sooo... chances are very low to get into the club with a sys 1 server as it seems ;)

i guess this is a standard throughout the OVH brands.

  • After some long nights debating myself and YABS, finally decided to keep the SYS-1-SAT-32 with solid 1 Gbs up/down instead of SYS-2-SAT-32 with 250mbps up and 10Gbs down. (BHS)

The 250mbps up limit is for OVH internal as well, no so good for internal transfer. More cores in D-1541 isn’t helping with my workload much.

Can’t complain on both, they both better than advertised.

I could have ordered SYS-1-SAT/SSD-32 during the waiting time for SYS-2-SSD-32. I saw it on stock few times, like now also. But SYS is not ready to cancel and refund on the order until it has been 7 days after payment. I think there will be refund coming rather than the ordered server.
