    @DanSummer It probably goes without saying but after the install finishes don't forget to unmount the netboot.xyz image and change the boot order back to hard drive as first (or only) boot device

    oh, yeah! :) unmount and change boot order.
    looking at my note for that server, it seems the error I was getting back then was related to running out of space: dev/vda1: clean, 89826/310080 files, 495608/1244624 blocks

    it could be that the server is too small (5GB ssd).

    Yeah, that's the only way to do it now. But by the time I get to ubuntu 20.04, install Runcloud ....I'm left with 500MB on a 5GB drive and that one runs out within a month or two of updates.
