Depend on the servers, but all HGST drive.

  • What's is HGST drive? have you an I/O testing result of it?

They're basically the same speed as every other 7200RPM enterprise drive. bench.sh script is useless to differentiate them.

So, I will change to SSD Hard disk.

@MaikoB @MikeA Can I buy more than 16 IPs additional per a dedicated on Singapore discovery DC?

    Not on Discover-SGP.
Other servers can have up to 256 IPs.

We will launch 5 new servers in SYD and SGP (and UK / DE / ...) in few days / start of next week.

They write "SoftRaid 2x2TB", what kind of the hard disk?

Depend on the servers, but all HGST drive.

HGST = Hitachi in HDD branch = subsidiary from Western Digital

  • Just saw the new servers on their webpage - pretty competitive prices for APAC...: https://www.ovh.ie/dedicated_servers/all_servers.xml?dc=sgp

Additionally, I just tested and it looks like latency to Singapore's 2nd largest residential ISP, StarHub has been fixed! Good job :)

Singapore has been working ok lately. There were several outages when I first got it a few months ago but seems to have gotten better. They also added a redundant route through Australia not too long ago.
