    I just switched to 10 and really like other than the run command in the start screen is gone forever. Not sure what the heck they would do that. There is sysadmins that use Windows. Anyways besides that 10 is fast, sexy, and easy to use.

  • Looks like a few people have OpenSUSE on laptops, what features do you like about it?

    And it calls home too!

    Is it likely that someone will just break into your flat? Or is this after the thing with your TOR exit node and still scared of police?

    As folks are writing about their phones / tablets and so on as well, here's my latest list:

    PC: Win 7 Ultimate 64bit + Kali 1.1.0

    Laptop: Win 8.1 Pro 64bit + Kali 2.0 (but I like 1.x much more so far, in 2.0 airmon doesn't even manage to enable the monitor mode for my laptops WiFi chip properly which was no problem with 1.x and Backtrack).

    VPS / servers: mostly Ubuntu 14.04 or Debian 7. One is running Debian 8, one CentOS 6.5

    Main phone (Samsung G. Note 3 (the original one, not this Neo crap)): Android 5.0.1

    Secondary phone (Motorola Moto G (the first one): Cyanogenmod 11 (4.4.4)

    Also got a Symbian phone and an iPod touch 4th Gen (iOS 5.0.1 I think) but no tablet, no use for this.

    I think I can keep devices with custom OS out of this list, as otherwise I would mention my video camera, photo camera, first phone and so on. And my PSP 3004. No idea what's running on it, don't even know where it actually is. :D

    (Home PCs) -> Debian 8, 64 Bit

    (Main workstation) -> Windows 7, but switching to debian very soon.

    (Laptops) -> Debian 7/8 depending on which one

    (Servers) -> Debian, debian, debian, debian

    (Mail Server) -> CentOS

  • I'm still running Windows 7 Pro on my main rig - I didn't want to move away from the start menu for 8, and adding a third-party version felt dirty.

    Not a fan of moving into a new Windows OS until it's 3-6 months old anyway, so we'll see how 10 pans out.

    That said, I've been feeling the urge to move all out Linux; having bit the bullet and installed Mint on my main laptop a few months ago, mostly to see how it felt being away from some of my Windows-only apps. Maybe that'll be next instead of 10, I just need to commit to it...

    Servers: Debian latest or Windows Server 2012R2 depending on what is being deployed - I try to keep to Debian wherever possible.

    I did use my HP Chromebook 11 for a while as my primary "roaming" device, but the girlfriend took a shine to it, and it's been commandeered for about 3 months now -.-

    :o

  • My lap top: Xubuntu. Two other laptops in the household with other Ubuntu variants. One old laptop with Debian being setup as backup machine. Shared family (again, old) desktop on which my 12 year old daughter just installed Debian. Very little time spent getting things to work, except when I decide to experiment....

    Two VPS's running Debian, plus another few client machines I admin (also Debian if I set them up, but some people use CentOS).
