    Yes, I got XO too......
But only CU can change the route from us to the DC.

not true, many DC have ability to contact the upstream line provider change that

  • @hotsnow @XIAOSpider97 We can manipulate the routes inbound and outbound. We just need to work out which metrics CT/CU respect.

Eeek, Ebuyer is an awful company. I speak from past experience.

    for $600/yr I expect enterprise-grade TBH :(

  • had to remove the double quote for inch as Cloudflare is blocking me.

@Bruce - 2.5 inch and Enterprise in terms of disks is like an oxymoron. Its a completely different market to the 3.5 inch disk one. In terms of 2.5 inch units, we've stuck to WD for 500GB and 1TB, Samsung for 2TB and are testing WD for 2TB too. We tried the midline and HP SAS disks, there is a performance benefit but would customers be prepared to pay $10-15/month more for 10-15MB/s additional disk performance. When we sampled it in 2013, the answer was absolutely no.

We're finding that most of these disks are lasting 12-18 months under 'abusive' load at which point they start amassing dead sectors/errors. This is more than sufficient for general use at which time we replace the disk for the customer. If you look at the age of our disks, they are almost all brand-new or as-new. There are no 2-3-4...10 year old disks that even the largest operators are peddling.

But don't compare 3.5 inch true Enterprise disks with 2.5 inch so-called Enterprise, the cost vs performance is just no there on 2.5 inch units.

OK, that explains the numbers then.

  • Bought one. Lets see how it's gonna roll. Thanks for the deal information

  • Hmm damn still waiting on mine to get delivered from the 28th :-P.

If you are trying to boost the performance then you have determine the type of traffic on the disks. How many IO threads, how fragmented the disks are and so on.

    I have PM'ed you

I know the feeling, I don't think I've ever logged into my email this often. The suspense is killing me and to be honest I'm not really sure why, it was completely an impulse buy, I don't even need it :D.

None, CT/CU filter all BGP sets and do not offer any communities.
