Online.net have just finished the installation of the second half of that 120Gb/s Cogent transit.

An additional 120Gb/s GTT transit planned 'soon'.

    @kcaj this is getting nice.

  • Umcookies said: If you feel like just handing over the server details then there's nothing stopping you doing that, but online.net wont transfer servers between accounts. We've asked before.

And IIRC they also said in the event people canceled some services it won't a be problem cause it's the same hw used for the €9.99 ones = they won't put the offer back. Basically there's no hope for people who didn't get one. Time to move on.

  • tr1cky said: But: How dare you advertise your free DDoS protection at all, I can take down any online.net free DDoS protected server with less than 100mbps udp.

What about what @linuxthefish said in the other thread?

    There's always hope :D
A week ago we did not expect anything of this sort, so who knows what they may think of next. Maybe not a repeat of this offer, but a special on the 9.99 model with 500 GB disk for 5 EUR. Or maybe a permanent reduction in price for it, along with addition of some new model at 10-15 EUR.

  • If only http://www.online.net/en/dedicated-server/dedibox-md2k14 was €10 less I'd be very tempted to move my main box over to them tbh. Loving the €2 box.

Weblogics What model HDD do you have in your 9.99 euro one?

So they're definitely not offering this anymore as the link in OP's post 404s?

  • @vx_

Pretty sure it was done less than 12 hrs after the OP posted.. See: 21 pages of responses

  • just a reminder, some friends reported that it seems Online.net prohibit the customers install their own windows, even they have own license, if been found, the account will have the risk of being terminated, somebody here can confirm this?

I guess the simplest thing would be if to check if on 3389 a Service is running, when its not licensed a Staff Member checks it and terminates your services oh dear. But i think they think the people using cracks maybe thats why.

  • Just renew 4 idle servers.

    Good to know.....
    anyone can confirm this?

  • sonic said: Just renew 4 idle servers.

btw, anyway to change payment frequency to yearly?

  • NeoonNeoon Community Contributor, Veteran

Mine was a hour but via PP.

  • ndlong75 said: i renew manually

    I renewed manually as well.

  • A protection that needs 5 minutes to kick in isn't a protection for me.

I have read the General terms, and also the specific dedicated terms. Nothing is expressly specified regarding the installation of and use of Windows which is not licensed by Online.Net, nor for it being grounds for termination.

The do reserve the right to terminate 'Pirated' services in section 9.04. I would assume being able to show a genuine Microsoft media + key should be enough to show that it is not pirated.

The only other mention of anything mention was that updates & security fixes need to be applied promptly.

  • @Monsta_AU I suppose all the win7 & win8 installations are considered "not permitted" as well.

  • they renew my dedi automatically, im using my debit card :)

How? I submit ticket and they say no longer accept PP

  • @tommy said:

Yes, got notifications and i pay manually

PP Payment only for old customer

  • NeoonNeoon Community Contributor, Veteran

i am a old costumer, but they disabled PP for me and i asked them and they dont enable it again. Wired stuff.

  • I had to click the "Pay" button to renew, so manual xd

  • Now I can see the offer is not more available. My question: How he make a win from it?

We're all talking about it and them. And those who did get one are more likely to get one of their larger servers later on.
