There was a lot of spamming in there (including myself), because the prizes available to win were very generous and determined by the order of who had the most posts. So, there'd be runs of 10 pages at a time with basically no content.

But then, every now and then when there were 3 or 4 of the keen people around, it actually turned into a real conversation. It's kind of a shame that's been taken away from them, as while I was trying to encourage them to explore other threads in the forum, that was their "safe place". I suspect at least a couple of them probably won't migrate to other threads, even though they were quite active in conversation as well as spam.

I have interest to remain. Offtopic seems kind of "dead" (thats just my opinion man) though when i have peeked in. Maybe i havent figured out the flow yet of this site, but it seems this forum mostly like a market place at the moment. Thats coming from a newer user

There were lots of random things that came up in "thread that shall not be named" so i did learn a lot while it was open, got book marks up the whaz from it and have already started using things i learned.

I intend to keep browsing around here. The hard part is switching from the persona that must be kept in that thread, vs the persona that must exist outside of it

That thread was utterly spam. We all know it. Good for trolling, nothing more.

I've probably glanced/read at like 30-ish % of the pages. There was some good random conversations, suggestions on various tools, programs, and so on. Then the spam would happen which would make me ignore what was actually posted and just jump to the latest page. Even with the replies that I got notifications for, it eventually turned into a "just not worth it" which would make me ignore them for a while. It sucks when you're still tagged in a reply that's like 20+ deep and is off topic from where it started.

Megathreads (BF, Christmas and what not ) should be heavily moderated IMO. I miss bunch of possibly good posts/deals because I do not even enter those threads with "MOARRRRR" and Emma Watson gifs.. Really looks like 5-year old community

Mega Thread mean that, the provider offer 5/10 counts, those offers are grabbed within few seconds, even DigiRDP had offer on his own thread after BF, that a VPS from Bengaluru, South India, they are vanished in few seconds, the order page got hanged. I do prefer less noise, but man, those cheers bring life to this forum. As many here more knowledgeable as I see, not 5-year old one.

None of these contribute to a forum at all, like @MannDude said, it only looks good for stats. If you would take a look at certain users profiles, you can easily see their posts are just identical content for thousands of posts.

I don't even look at them anymore cuz I don't have all day to sift thru bullshit then hit f5 and do it again. Big props to @FAT32 for indexing the last one, it was wonderful.
