Does anyone know if the servers were supposed to be delivered today or next Monday? Thanks

    Today.

If the remaining servers have all been delivered by the end of today I'll eat my hat.

@TimboJones said: If waiting longer than expected is a nightmare, you have a good life.

Maybe $190 is not a big deal for you, but it is for me.
I think everyone like well-arranged life, and no one like the uncertainty in his/her life.
But thanks to HH, I got the money back. So the nightmare can be over.

Drama queen. You were always going to get the server or your money back, no risk or danger there. What you didn't have was the service delivered to resell and make profit on your investment. That's what got your panties in a bunch. You meant impatience, not nightmare.

If $190 is the difference between eating or starving, perhaps an annual VPS purchase shouldn't be your priority.

Who told you I was mad because I “can't resell the server”? Don't judge people with your dirty mind. If 190 dollars is as worthless to you as a penny on the ground, then I'm not “ entitled ” to communicate with such a rich and noble person like you, after all, 190 dollars does mean a lot to me.

Dirty mind? What are we discussing here? No denial, so I was right? I explained how you intended to part with your money to begin with, so you can't cry about not having the money, just the service. And the delay would only matter if you planned on making money from it. If you really needed it weeks ago, you just would have ordered the best service for your money at the time, which was?

I pay money, the service provider provides me with a product, it's a matter of course. When it promises a delivery time and fails to do so, for me, “uncertainty” arises, and that's a very difficult thing in my life.

I wasn't before, but now I'm judging you.

It's like buying a plane ticket, waiting for the plane, but the flight has been delayed, and the airline doesn't make any statement, neither does it say that the delayed plane can be arranged for other flights, nor does it say that it can give you a refund. It even ignored your claim at all. So you like this way of life right? Then I have nothing more to say.

No, it's definitely not. First of all, you're at home and not prevented from doing anything (I don't think you've ever been delayed at an airport or you'd know how ridiculous your comparison is). This is more like, "you have a standby ticket, we'll let you know when you have a seat available. It's usually a couple of weeks, but sometimes longer".

The most common reasons why companies go dark with updates is that delivery is reliant on a third party, and they're prone to fuck up from time to time (UPS and FedEx, I'm talking about you), or they just don't have the resources. We know of health issues with one of the owners, plus Christmas holidays plus unexpected sick people (I'm on week 3 of an expected 4 week flu going around).

I also have a bit more sympathy as I understand giving timelines based on how long something should take, only to get interrupted so many times by so many different things (you've seen 2-3 HostHatch outages over that time, no?) that I sometimes wish I pull a Scotty and just give long times and just deliver faster and appear like a miracle worker.

  • My ticket got a reply several hours ago:

    Hi there,

I am extremely sorry for the long wait. We are targeting delivery completion for all pending Cyber Monday orders over the next few days.

    Best Regards,

    Got mine!

  • I hope @HostHatch becomes more cautious about making time-related promises in the future, as it feels uncomfortable when those expectations are not met.
For instance, I expected the Japan VPS to be delivered today, but it hasn't arrived yet. I will continue to wait, but this feeling is not very good.

Breaking a promise once seems to make it easier to do it again.

The Sweden server was delivered last night. The Japan server is now outstanding.

    outstanding? Or ''pending''?

  • houmiehoumie Member

Sorry, it got somehow autocorrected. I meant pending.

Same here. Looks like Tokyo will be the champion of most-delayed-for-delivery datacenter in this HH BF season sale. How lucky of me!

My Stockholm VPS got delivered at the end of yesterday, so the Monday promise held up for me. So far it looks good and snappy.

One minor detail I noticed not only with this server is that when the chosen image is installed the upgrades are performed but strangely no reboot so you end up with up to date packages but outdated kernel in not so obvious state. Strange oversight of whatever admin platform it uses.

Will Tokyo be delivered by next Monday? LOL, at this rate, we’ll hit Black Friday 2025 before these servers are delivered.

Got my Tokyo VPS a bit under 2h ago. No idea if I was towards the end of the queue but I'm hoping so.

    When you least expect it?

When you have given up all hope?

When you stop watching for it?

When you buy something else to replace it?

I was about to ask if someone else is waiting for it too. By the look of it, it's going to be next week.

Did they adjust the expiration date?

Ah good call. I just checked. Yes, it is set to 2028-01-14.

  • I thought the "LowEnd" in the site name referred to the products offered, but now I see it's the customers.
